  1. I'll be on "Infinite Ceiling" tonight on CKCU 93.1 at 11:00, talking about B&Z. Norm couldn't make it so no live jamming but I have a CD of wild sounds. I going to talk about some of the techniques we use and may even speak ill of The Dead. Hope you all can listen in.

  2. I agree. I didn't think it was very good from a story or musical perspective. It's an interesting documentary, fun to see the stoned hippies and Janis is always a treat but compared to the performances and diversity of groups that were at Woodstock and the history that was made there ... ultimately lame.

Of course, I will probably buy it anyways. Right now I'm digging the Who live at the Isle of Wight. Fruck does Townsend have extreme volume. It's just howling for Young Man Blues.

  3. The thing that scares me a bit is that Bush seems to be teflon. Here is the most evil and irresponsible president that the US has ever had full of 1984 style statements and actions (it's not only the war folks, he is screwing the economy, environment, education ... you name it) and even after the evidence is presented 50% of Americans still support him ... almost blindly. Even his "born again Christian" stance is a lie. When asked what passage of the bible he read today, he can't answer.

    Fooooooooock!

  4. Moore or no Moore, Bush has directly involved America in a holy war without just cause and opened the flood gates of hate and intolerance. For that, Bush must go.

Think of it this way. You live in a country where an evil dictator is in charge but most of the time, you keep your mouth shut, do your job, raise your family and nothing much happens. Then, the Americans "liberate" you by bombing your streets to rubble, killing people and stirring up religious crazies. Now your life is shiit and your country is in ruins. Who are you going to blame?

Moore is helping to get rid of the monster.

  5. Obviously, this guy is no terrorist. The US scares me. That Bush fooker has to go.

Actually, go and get the guitar tab to "Wild World". It manages to use just about every standard guitar chord in the book ... without being boring or sounding forced ... which is saying something. Most folking can only fit in about 3 chords (G, C and D) unless it's the Zep folk!

  7. It was fun to see the drunken vibe on the train. My problem was that I've been waiting for this movie for so long, perhaps I had it built up to be more than it is. My brother in law saw Janis on this tour and has been raving all these years (of course, Janis didn't let me down).

No offsense intended. Like I said, I wasn't going to piss on the thing before any of you had seen it.

  8. I saw it last Friday but didn't say anything on purpose until others saw it.

I enjoyed Janis and some of the Band but over all was not that impressed. The drunken jams on the train were drunken rambling jams. Buddy Guy, who I have seen smoke live in the eary 80's and heard kill on record was LAME. The Dead ... out of key and weak ... sorry Dead fans.

It was very cool to see the musicians having such a good time and interesting history but I doubt I'll buy the DVD when it comes out. My advice is see it once to enjoy the history. I couldn't see watching it again and again at home (like say the Zep DVD, Jimi DVD's, Floyd Pompeii, Woodstock ...).
