With four full-length albums under their belts and a reputation as one of the world’s most incendiary live acts, Tricky Woo have traveled from here to Timbuk2 to spread their love-filled message of pure, unadulterated, total guitar warfare. Nominated for a Juno Award in the "Best Alternative Album" category for their 1999 genre_defining hard rock masterpiece "Sometimes I Cry", Tricky Woo have also seen several of their songs appear on heavyweight American television shows like Dawson's Creek and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The band went on hiatus in early 2002 after touring intensively behind their chart-topping college radio smash album "Les Sables Magiques". In the brief time that they were away, the band received more accolades and words of reverence from music fans around the world than it ever had while it was active. Words like "legendary", "seminal" and "maddeningly ahead of their time" are thrown around like rice at a wedding when mention of the band is made. Heeding the call, Tricky Woo have regrouped and are poised to re-invent popular music, yet again, with their up-coming 5th full-length release. This latest installment in the Tricky Woo discography promises to be the band’s penultimate expression of paint-peeling, mind-shattering guitar rock. Featuring original members Andrew Dickson on vocals and lead guitar, Adrian Popovich on lead guitar, Alex Barbeau on bass and new addition Patrick Sayers on drums, “The Woo” is most definitely on top. The Ride Theory plays rock n' roll music. Our appreciation for the sound and feel of early rock n' roll evolved into a lifestyle in the summer of 2002. Aron D'Alesio (singer/guitarist) and Noah Fralick (drummer) had been experimenting musically, in the depths of a Canadian basement. Soon a crude, yet undeniably authentic, rock n' roll sound was concocted. The sound developed with the additions of guitarist, Kyle Kuchmey and bassist, John Smith. All members being well-schooled in the roots of rock n’ roll, we naturally draw musical inspiration from the analog masterpieces in surf rock, soul, art rock, garage and beat rock. We nurture a sense of duty to evoke excitement from our audiences. Our stage presence is energetic and enthusiastic.
