Passenger is a three piece band Jim Slansky on guitar and vox, Sam Cino drums, Jason Raso (bass guitar). We play what could loosely be termed as Blues fusion or very eclectic funk blues. One might say that artists like the Allman Brothers, John Scofield, the Neville Brothers, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Defunkt, Miles Davis, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Bill Withers, have all had a profound influence on this music. Chipotle will be playing a cool party on Friday sept 26th at Kaleidoscope in downtown Guelph from 10p – midnight (tickets 16 dollars) with a dj following...magic act and food included... and Sunday Sept 28th at the Cornerstone in downtown Guelph from 9p-midnight… Chipotle (pronounced Chip-oat-lay) is a “Jazz ‘n Groove” instrumental Trio consisting of Sam Cino on Drums, Jim Slansky on guitar and John Elliot on bass. Influences include: John Scofield, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Bob Marley, John Coltrane, Henry Mancini, Thelonius Monk, Soulive, Ray Barretto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Charlie Parker, St Germain, Sly Stone, Maceo Parker, Medeski,Martin and Wood, and others of that ilk.
