B & Z
Too bad! I've have to pull the plug on this since half of it turned out to be a legal release... JazzBo writes: "The Alabama and Impressions here are from December 7, 1963. This was the Quartet's appearance on "Ralph Gleason's Jazz Casual" TV show. A version of Afro Blue was also played but isn't on this boot. The original broadcast date in NY was 2/19/64, and 2/23/64 in SF (hence the erroneous date on the bootlegs.) Gleason was based in SF tho, so the location is right. Video of the full set is available from Rhino on DVD. FWIW, Coltrane was back in NY by late February 64, playing a special set of shows with Ornette joining the quartet -- sadly, I know of no circulating tapes of those shows." Well, it was a good guinea-pig to learn all about seeding shows with! NN....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
