The new beverage concoction is a bacon-flavored soda that is available now for a limited time during the holiday season.

J&D Foods is known for its perhaps rather strange bacon products. Their motto is "everything should taste like bacon."

Justin Esch and Dave Lefkow (Hence, the J&D Foods) started out with Bacon Salt in 2007, expanding the salt line to different flavors of bacon for their customers to try. Then came Baconnaiseâ„¢, "the Ultimate Bacon Flavored Spread." Soon they were making bacon flavored popcorn, gravy mix, lip balms, dressing and dip mix, a specialty bloody mary rim salt, envelopes, and even a Bacon Baby Infant Formula.

Last month they auctioned off a sculpture of Kevin Bacon they had an artist make out of bacon, calling it the "Bacon Kevin Bacon."

Their latest creation is bacon-flavored soda. According to AOL News, J&D Foods partnered with the Jones Soda company to come up with a special edition of drinkable bacon goodness, just in time for holiday gift-giving.

Justin Esch said: "They know soda. We know bacon. We were destined to merge our technologies for something big. We've already made bacon beauty products, bacon stationery and edible bacon products, so something drinkable was next."

Marketing manager for Jones Soda, Mike Spear said: "We spent many rounds and many afternoons getting the flavor right. One would be too smoky, one too sweet, one too much like maple. But the flavor we finally went with is spot-on. It's a complex flavor with many levels. I think we hit it out of the park on this one."

For all of those who cannot live without trying this new swine soda, or for those who just can't help giving gag gifts to your loved ones, it can be bought in a holiday gift package, consisting of two bottles of bacon soda, one tube of bacon lip balm, a package of cheddar bacon popcorn and a package of bacon gravy mix, all for the price of $9.99.

Esch joked: "Not only will the taste improve over time, but the value of bacon soda will increase as well. It's a collector's item for bacon enthusiasts, so it could be worth something someday. I predict the value of bacon soda will go up 10 times its original value in one year."
