  1. Hey everyone. For those who went, hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did. For those who didn't, make an effort to come out next year. A great way to melt away the winter blues, for sure. Enjoy the pics and feel free to comment-my blog seems to really lack in input from viewers and a few nice comments would REALLY make my efforts feel worthwhile. Can't wait until Guelph Island...Yippee!

  2. Another great...great...great weekend. From Superstack to The Droops, to Mark Wilson and of course Caution Jam...great acoustic acts and lots of happy faces. Priceless!!! Due to the damp/cold Saturday PM/Sunday I didn't unpack the camera much and when I did, I was too much into shakin my ass to get it off my shoulder, but I got a couple shots (mainly of The Droops, my inaugral band this year) that will at least give a taste (albeit a small one)...hope you like em'

  3. You know what, this whole discussion is really starting to bum me out, kinda piss me off and just frankly make me shake my head. Let's get off the negative vibes towards location/cost/quality of bands...REALLY! This same shit happens every year-when we where at Izzy's (my first CTMF) everybody talked about the legend and the far better times they had at FGT, now the reverse is apparent. Every year the same criticism regarding the freshness/quality of the bands comes up, yet everybody gets down. Last Labour Day the rant over the tarp over the stage became a cornerstone argument and in the end it became a true blessing. What I am trying to say is no matter how much people bitch about this and that, the fact of the matter is is that CTMF is a special little gathering that is, always has been and always will be a meeting place for good people who dig good tunes and I will always go away smiling. Everyone who goes and has gone knows they do as well, so let's enjoy and appreciate Mark's efforts and kick the happy banter up a notch. Yippee!!!

  4. Well they came, they conquered and they moved on. The Drive By Truckers are to me, what rock n' roll should be and for those at the Hamilton, or Toronto shows, you know what I mean. I left the Phoenix show feeling like I had been steamrolled. Speechless hardly describes my emotions. I can't wait until they come around again, but until then..here are some memories...

  5. Well with the Hamilton show tonight and The Phoenix show tomorrow, it's time for a roll call.

By the way I have praised these guys ever since I accidentally stumbled across the end of there set, kicking on shrooms at the 03' Bonnaroo. The opening intro of Let There Be Rock, led by the always prolific Patterson Hood (I like to call him the Redneck Prophet) became a crazed triple guitar spit session with Shonna and Jason sharing a mike, so comfortable, so right, so true. I was hooked and.....

...so began my Truckers obsession....see ya in Toronto ;)

  6. Although I normally stand by the sidelines and observe the action on this wonderful board, getting the heads up on whats going on locally and enjoying the comradery fealt amongst a group of true music lovers, like myself discuss life, love, getting stoned, sharing smiles and sharing sorrow. Most of all, I love how we all apreciate and understand the euphoric inner feelings that that music can provide, no matter what the setting. That moment when a song takes you to a different level, you smile, she smiles, he smiles, words are not necessary, all is understood. I live for these moments and Come Together has taken me to these levels several times over the last 3 Labour Day get togethers I have been to. I have also been to Bonnaroo 2003-2005, Gathering of the Vibes, Woodstock 1994 (way back when:-) and have taken part with my lovely wife and son in tow both Hillside and Mariposa for 3 years running. All festivals are unique and one isn't better than another, just different. Be it the absolutely exhausting and overwhelming beauty and range of talent that Bonnaroo provides, the family friendly, ecologically aware and indie saturated Hillside, the layed back, catch a rest by the lake slow burn of Mariposa, or the friendly, back-yard, "the band is camping next door" feel that makes Come Together exactly what it is, a time for all of us to COME TOGETHER.

Opinions are necessary, criticism natural, change is real, and I am not shutting myself off to the often good and valid points that several naysayers have put forth, but I really hate the feelings of negativity and pitting of one fest vs another that has added weight to this post. Let us get on, get up, and get back to Frontier Town and make it the best Labour Day yet.

P.S. Deeps, I was on you site and got a smile out of seeing one of my Bonnaroo shirts on Fraser I kicked down in fair trade for a WTTS shirt I still where often:) Hope to see the Guelph gang again this year:-)

  7. Great time!! Jomomma, Truth and Rights, Burt and the ubiquitous Caution Jam all marked highlights for this picture perfect weekend. Special thanks to Deeps and the crew from Guelph for welcoming me around your fire and making me feel like one of the gang. Great meeting Jay from Jomomma during the Burt set on Sunday...and hope to see ya in London. All in all Come Together was good to its name and because of that I am having a real hard time wiping this perma smile off my face..thanks :P

  8. Do to considerable local talk about this shirt that I was selling at Bonnaroo a month ago, I have gone to press on a few more and thought there might be some interest on this great board, where as a lurker and sometimes poster, I am on daily. The link to the shirt is Bonnaroo . Please feel free to email me with any questions regarding the product, shipping, etc. For those who were lucky enough to make it down to Tennessee, hope you had a great time and with many outings still ahead this summer, hope everyone stays safe and has a one of a kind summer!! All the best, Sean

  9. Ok, I feel like I must of missed something in regards to a vid of this past year's mega-fest. Totally got off on the first years, attended the second year, loved Danny Clinch's take, attended last year and am wanting my fix. I can't find any info anywhere. Can someone give me a heads-up if they know if one is in the works or if Superfly nixed the idea. Peace, Sean
