  1. after working at a video store (Queen Video), I'd have to recommend one movie.

Make no mistake about it, HEAVYWEIGHTS is one of The funniest and unexpected, films to come out of the 90's. It stars Ben Stiller and a bunch of fat kids.

    'nuff said.

As for recent films, I thought Storrytelling by Tod Solonds (guy who directed Happiness) was an absolutely treat to watch (despite that one scene where the prof asks his student to scream out ... shocked.gif" border="0

  2. just got back from my friend's place, and I just wanted to mention thatCookie Monster guest starred on martha Stewart's show to bake cookies. It was 10 minutes of some of the funniest shit I've ever seen! Cookie was terrorizing the stern-like Martha with his spasm antics over his love for cookies. It's been a long time since I've shared a moment with Cookie frown.gif" border="0

Anyways, on another note, who thinks martha has some sex appeal? tongue.gif" border="0

  3. Man, I'll never forget the first time I walked into Nectar's back in '86...

Just kidding! I was dragged to my first show in Niagra Falls 12/7/95. I was quite hesitant to see them because I thought they were nothing but goofballs. Well, let's just say once the gooballs kicked in during first set Possum, I GOT IT. Like a tonn of bricks, I was floored by the tension and release jams in synch with the trippy lights. The rest was gravy, and I was ready for seconds grin.gif" border="0

  4. I went to the first night too.

I thought it was incredible, without being too critical!

The harmonies were great, the song selection was more than I could ask for, plus anything with Neil definately puts a fat grin on my face.

I thought there were many psych moments (Down by the River) and some bitter sweet moments as well (Our House).

Overall, my friend and I had such a good time, we were eager to got the next night too (but we were broke).

  5. when I first started trading I was a purist and a stickler for getting complete shows. However, with Dick's Pick's, I've learned to accept whatever is released, complete or not.

I'm sure whatever didn't make it, has a good reason (lacking energy or taking up too much space for 2 discs). Either way, I'm happy! mad.gif" border="0

  6. YABA DABA DOO

it was only a matter of time until they released another show from the sacred '74 vault!

This show was the first "Wall of Sound" gig. Also, they debut Scarlet and Cassidy here.

It's also the third and last Playin>UJB>Morning Dew>UJB>Playin sandwhich!!!

    NICE grin.gif" border="0grin.gif" border="0

  7. I just got back from watching the Texas Chainsaw Massacre; haven't seen it since I was a kid (after I saw "Summer School").

Dude, that movie is seriously messed up! There's this creepy sense of southern americana realism that permeates, which really pays off in the fright department, 10-fold! I remember when I used to work at the video store, I couldn't understand those customers who would pledge allegiance to the movie. Now after seeing it again, there's no doubt in my mind that it's a bluprint for a majority of horror/suspense films to come out afterwards.

    how about you?

  8. I was literally blown away when I first saw them open up for the Chili Peppers back in 92. I have fond memories of listening to "10" on sunny days lying in the park trashed off a few bottle tokes. I stuck with the band up until Vitalogy, then I kinda lost interst. Yet i still go to see them live!

  9. Flashback to Grade 2:

that picture was taken from the Different Strokes episode where the "Gang" took a trip to Universal Studios. Arnold got too anxious on the set of Knight Rider, so he snuck into a decoy Kit car that was being set up to explode without him knowing. The episode ended in cliffhanger style: would the car blow up with Arnold in it?

Dude, the next day that episode was THE biggest buzz around the playground at elementary school!

thanx for the memories! grin.gif" border="0
