    What you missed was a special apperance by everyone's favorite Whipping Post door man.. "Horas" or something like that.... anyway, I had never heard him sing before and he made my night... sweet pipes!

    Here is the deal....

    One day while returning to Ottawa from Toronto... 4 very clever individuals were stuck in a car for 4 hours together.... burnt out and overdosed on the D... the scene was set for one of the greatest brainstorming sessions of all time.

    As The Sloth prepared the brainstorm smoke, the dialog began.... I can't remember who or when.... and I sure as hell can't remember why.. but what resulted was a union more powerful that the G12...... a coalition of brains, brawn and pure unharnessed egotism.... a boy band for the rest of us...

    We have the talent... we have the vision.... we have the passion... all we needed was a name.... it is all about the ladies... so what do the ladies love?

    CHEESECAKE was born on January 25, 2002 on the 401 somewhere near Kingston..... with 3 founding original members.

    As the smoke cleared from my car, I realized that something very special had just happened, I realized that my life had been forever changed my destiny had finally become clear... the early car jams were nothing short of lightning in a bottle .... soon we will unleash it upon you all.... so I guess I am here issue all you people a warning... resistance is futile!!!

    The ranks were filled out to ensure that the classical sauce of personality types were accounted for and to ensure a steady amount of infighting and drama.... at last count there were 6 or 7 members... I can't be sure because no one fucking tells me anything... I wouldn't be surprised if I were to arrive for rehearsal and find that we had become a 12 piece... fuckers!!

    Ladies submit to the overwhelming power of CHEESECAKE!!

    As a special treat to the ladies... CHEESECAKE will be performing a very special ladies only show at Frontier Town in May..... Invite only.... the screening process is under way.... send your applications to my attention... pics are recommended

    Already rumours abound about when the first public CHEESECAKE show will be... This will be an event that dwarfs the Superbowl in media coverage... an event so heavily anticipated that even the nay sayer will be sure to drop $69.69 for the Pay Per View special.

    If this scare you just wait and see what happens on our Galactic trip next week.... stay tuned

    April Wine plays Barrymores Friday... hahahahahaha... sadly that is the best thing to do here this weekend. Saving up for Galactic!

    Superbowl halftime show has been changed... new booking just announced

    CHEESECAKE!! for halftime festivities and The Sloth to sing the anthem solo, he is the only one who knows the words and the rest of us can't be bothered to learn them

    These guys contacted me a few weeks ago.. they wanted to come play in Ottawa.

    I asked for a CD... buddy was supposed to send it... I still haven't got it.

    These guys are from Collingwood... north of Toronto.

    They expected some serious coin so I don't know if I will ever be able to get them to Ottawa

    My adventure from last night

    While downtown putting up some final promo for GTB this friday, I walked past The Rainbow.

    As I put a poster up outside I was captured by a very funky groove coming from inside. I went inside for "open Jam" night. I paid my $3 and was treated!! These 2 rasta guys laid down the funkiest groove... they had a guest guitar player who thought he was John Scofield and pulled the act off rather well. I saw about 30 miutes of this sweet jam before they took a break.

    I went outside for a little 420, that is when I realised how used I am to having all you around, it has been a long time since I had to smoke alone.

    The next set started and I was disappointed to see some grey hair white guy take over the keys and ruin what what was a cool vibe with his stale old blues chords...

    Oh well 30 minutes of bliss for $3 wasn't too bad

    Right on Harpua... Ottawa will have a show drought for a few weeks after this anyway..

    Next Ottawa show I know of is King Cordova at the Mercury Feb 13, 2002

    There is always Raggamuffin

    Yeah.. what's with recording a cover band.... I mean they are good but come on.....

    For those of you who have met my brother Chad, you will like this story.

    For those of you who don't know he is doing a Promotions course at Humber College in TO. Now in his last semester he is doing an internship at The Comedy Channel

    Exerpt from an email he sent me today

    I'm going to Bullard tonight to meet the D and watch their performance and interview. MAke sure you watch it at 10pm on Comedy. LAst night I went there and saw Jason Biggs, Alicia silverstone and HAyden, it was pretty cool. I didn't get to meet them last night cause I didn't realize my pass got me backstage. Only found out this morning, but tonight is where it really counts!!!

    Cool eh?
