Just to clarify ... I can't make it to Gratefulfest on the Labour Day weekend' date=' but I'm still seriously considering heading to Nelson Ledges for the July 4th weekend, as there is a music festival going on. It's not Gratefulfest, but it's looking really good so far.

rothbury music festival, a sustainable camping festival celebrating music, art and action, in rothbury, mi on the west side of the state just north of muskegon. it's july 3rd-6th.

along with the great music, they'll be "offering various buzz sessions and roundtables between leading scientists, scholars, writers, progressive political and corporate leaders, youth leaders, entertainers, and…you."

i dont think they require them to drive across the border just yet. it was supposed to be a requirement as of the new year, but i just heard on the radio the other day that they postponed it until 2009. FYI, the source on the radio was a casino windsor ad, so i'm not quite sure how accurate the info is.

i've heard from a guy i know that promotes a lot of music around here that they'll be coming to the fillmore in detroit, too, but the date is not confirmed yet. i imagine it would be around the dates of the chitown and cincy shows.

Nope, no Burning Man for me this year. I loved it but i like doing different things every year. This year is snowboarding and Langerado....and now it looks like Grateful Fest too!! (probably only the friday saturday sunday though)

With my friends Karin and James moving to Colorado this year (they've been saying that for years now ) Burning Man looks a lot more likely for 2009 with Denver as the jumping off point.

i swear, this is the year, as soon as james is off of probation. and yes, 2009 burning man for sure!

yep, that exits right by my house. the funny thing is, that road's only called Big Beaver for about a 3 or 4 mile stretch by the highway, everywhere else the signs say 16 mile road.
