I never hated them in the 80's. I never owned an LP or Tape but I could sing along to a lot of their hits. We certainly had a strong homegrown new wave thing going on here in Canada.

And they are in my backyard so to speak. They dot the horizon up here on the coast. Anyone who has travelled up through the Shelburne area is well aware of therm as well. Do they bother me, not in the least.
It's a classic NIMBY situation.
a couple of years ago, we used to see regular morning convoys carrying the massive parts on special trucks up hwy 6 on their way over towards the lake huron area.these are not your grandparents' farm windmills, these are immense structures. at their peak, they measure almost 120m (380 ft) with each blade being over 40 meters (125 ft) long - that's fucking huge!!
noise is a big issue with these things. up close, they are on par with jet engines. and they are said to only last for about 20 years. imagine the disaster if one of these things isn't maintained properly then.
as energy-productive as they are, they are not without serious problems.

Wow, I hope not too many of you are traveling south this holiday. Yes gas is now under 80 cents but the exchange rate has gone south as well.
We're up in the 30% neighborhood again. I need a USD Draft tomorrow for $6500 and it's gonna cost $8600 CAD. Yowsers!

A theatre show would be great but I don't think they will be playing theatre's if this tour happens. I imagine it's pretty difficult to take an arena setup down to a theatre setting.
Was the Penn State show billed as "The Grateful Dead", I don't think it was.

I think the NBA switch was probably in the works prior to the merger finalization. If the merger happened or not you would have still lost they NBA this year.
CDN subscribers at this point cannot pay extra to get the Best of XM. Will that change?? Who knows??

I don't think Sirius subscribers are going to lose Jam On or the Dead Channel. I did just find out on my way home though that Reggae Riddims is gone and has been replaced with XM's The Joint.
I'll have to reserve judgement on that for now. They used to have Marley Mondays which were great hopefully The Joint won't disappoint.

I have too much invested in Sirius to think about jumping ship to XM. 2 Car Units, 1 Home Unit and a Sirius Boombox.
So if someone buys a new XM radio in Canada they will for sure get those channels??? Looks like a lot more channels are on XM now. MArgaritaville, 1st Hits, E Street Radio, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Coffee House.
No Howard though. Did you participate in any of the surveys that Sirius Canada sent out about what channels you were most important to you??

Mac Users - 1Password Freebie

As parts of Agile's Thanksgiving promotion they are allowing registered users of 1Password to give away a couple of copies of the software.
I believe I have at least 1 to give away yet. Their site appears to be getting hammered. Anyhow gave a copy to my wife and i'll throw a copy at the first Skank to send me a PM. I'll need your name and e-mail address.
This software is great if you have lots of different passwords for various websites as it will keep them all in one safe place. It also ties into OSX's keychain nicely.
