here's an international project that melts my cold heart!

Complaints Choir Worldwide.

People submit lists of complaints they have about wherever they live, and composers set the litany to music. It's oddly touching, just to hear a 40 piece choir sing "Why does my computer take so very long? Why can't the bus driver talk to anyone? And why is the beer so expensive in town?". And so on.....

So far it's been done in several places - Helsinki, Birmingham, Hamburg, St Petersburg - and according to a report I heard today, CBC Toronto is soliciting listener responses for complaints to make a Canadian contribution to this project.

I guarantee you'll be humming this all year. Be sure to check out the other cities contributions too, Helsinki's is awesome!
