Back in April, 2005, I recorded James McKenty And The Spades at The Pour House in Ottawa, ON, but when I processed the recordings, I found there were some digital glitches, and even a track or two that was unlistenable, so I ended up just leaving the recordings on my hard drive.

Fast forward to this weekend, and as I was seeing what I could take off the hard drive to free up some space, I came upon the recordings. I had remembered them being glitchy, but didn't know how bad they were, so I decided to look at the tracks, and at least delete any unlistenable tracks (to reduce how much I'd have to put on CD-R backup), and maybe end up with something uploadable.

As it turned out, the recordings are actually not too bad. There was only one pair of unlistenable tracks ("Busting Off An Easy One" blended into "49 Tons Of Diesel Locomotive" from the first night, which they actually did again the second night), and even the tracks with "pop" glitches weren't too bad, especially after some audio tweaking using Audacity. And since it's a pair of back-to-back shows, and has some songs they don't often or anymore ("Lantern Kites", "The Business Of Being Friends", "Tampa To Tulsa", "Everybody Looks Like Zombies And Not My Friends"), I figured it'd be good to upload them. The audio quality isn't the best, but it's more than passable.

Here they are:
