Grooveshark failed to secure licenses for the songs it was streaming, and was facing zillions of dollars in lawsuits as a result. The settlement that was reached included a total wipe of all their servers, and the complete handover of all Grooveshark IP over to the "major music companies". RIP to an innovator.
