Large Marge
FYI... Toronto City Council's budget committee yesterday approved $60,000 in funding for Car Free Sundays in Kensington Market and on Church Street (finally!). Car Free Sundays are set to start in June for Kensington Market, and July (after Pride) for Church Street. I expect that I'll be putting out a pretty major call for volunteers in the next little while, so if you think you might be interested in helping out with the events, please let me know (or contact the Sierra Club directly) http://eastern.sierraclub.ca/gta/ This is great news for all those in favour of open public spaces and breathing clean air... if you see the name of your Councilor below, please be sure to thank them for voting in favour. Cheers! The motion was put forward by Councillors Olivia Chow and Kyle RaeSocknacki; Mihevc, Milczyn, Rae, and Watson voted in favour.
