'Cus, conservatively let's say he's 200 pounds without the feathers and whatnot - at 3 minutes per pound, you're cooking that poor bastard for more than 10 hours just to make sure you don't kill off the rest of the gang. Mr. Musicface Posted October 15, 2002 Author Report Share Posted October 15, 2002 Jeez, so I was just putting my real turkey in the oven (parents and in-laws coming over together for the first time! ) and the recommended cooking time for my 10 pounder is 4 1/2 hours... so my previous calculation on Big Bird was way off, it would be more like 90 hours!
