All I can say is that is was an emotional and rip-roaring way to say goodbye to Toronto.
What a show, what a crowd, what a vibe!!
I had such a good time.
Thank you to everyone who have danced beside me at BNB shows, and shared the vibe.
One more thing:
Mike said "We'll see you again", so....

It's funny, I'm not making any more money, but things I enjoy continue to rise in price.
hooboy.

Rochelle,
I'm SO SORRY.
I have a good excuse, even though I don't deserve to even give you one. I'll make it up to you, it wasn't me, it was powers above and beyond that caused me to fuck up, but I'll make it up to you.
I've already apologized to Sarah and I'll apologize to you too, I promise.

Both, the vibe at the Trash was great to be a part of. BNB showed that this incredible tour is continuing to kick ass with wicked versions of Down w/The Sound, Fresco and Yellow in the first set, along with a mind boggling second set which included
Thriller Jam->Chevron, Loving Cup, Frankenstein, an wicked Wex and one of the best Words Are Cures I've ever heard.
see you in toronto.

Asher,
They are super tight there, but with good karma and a good ID, I see no problem.
I believe it $7, but don't quote me on that.
BNB will be on around 10:45.

I have been covering BNB for a while now including an interview I did with Jeff that's been published here and there.
I am going to be a doing a final wrap-up piece on BNB and will be conducting interviews with the band as well as the fans at the Horseshoe and Trash tomorrow and saturday nite. If you know who I am, please give me a second and let me know how you feel about BNB, your best experience, any story, any comment, nostalgia...
If you can't make it to those shows and have something to say, please e-mail me at
shain@freeonlinemusic.net
Please leave your name and age with the quote, and if I use you, I'll tell you.
Thanks again for being the greatest family on earth, see you at the shows and stop bye, say hello and pick up a Revolving Door!

Burt Neilson Band should close out their six year career with a final gig in their hometown six years to the day that they started. It would be a tough farewell, but should be done.
-
I just want them to return and play a final show on 4/20, the day they first played six years ago in Toronto to close it all out.
One final show; 4/20.

BNB - Thank You, and Good Night…
After six years together, we have collectively decided to disband and explore other avenues. It’s been a great run since those days starting out in Thunder Bay. We’ve made so many great friends over the last six years and enjoyed every second of playing for you. That’s really what kept us going all this time: we have the best fans that anyone could ever ask for and we are forever grateful for your helping us to achieve our dream. As most relationships go, we‘ve come to a point where we want to try new things and do stuff in our life that being in a band has prevented us from doing. We needed to make the move now, before being in a band began to feel like a job- which none of us ever wanted. This decision was made amicably and we plan on remaining the best of friends. A special thank you to Lowell Binstock, Scott Farmer, Daniel Denomme and Jeffrey Kornblum for contributing to the band and our lives, you are, and always will be part of the Burt Neilson family. BNB would never have existed if it wasn’t for the fans, you stuck with us during extended breaks, losing band members and even the odd show where we just didn’t play well. We hope that you will continue to support the scene you helped build and support us in whatever projects we may be involved in the future. Our last show will be in Halifax on April 13 at the Attic. We hope to see you all out at our remaining dates. Once again, thanks so much for everything, you truly are the best fans in the world.

Going to be a sweet night.

Hey. I apologize for stirring any controversy, because I meant nothing of the sort.
I mean there are just so many sites that deal with canadians as our scene continues to develop and get bigger. I feel when I'm frequenting one and leaving one in the dust, I'm not doing my part as a phan to help out as many people as I can.
I'm all for helping out Mike on this site [as I am doing now], but if we combined jambands.ca, ctree, canjam, phish sanctuary...
or atleast create a webring or some sort of tighter community, I think if would benefit all of us.
Again, please don't get upset at my comments, I mean NO disrespect. I appreciate everything you web warlords are doing to keep our scene afloat, as my computer knowledge is minimal.
keep well

I'll be there.

I feel that one, solid, extremely comprehensive Canadian site that deals with our music should exist. We should encourage creative imput from all phans and create a site that kicks all others ass.
Let's unite, for the greater good.

I recommend a band called
EUPHORIC SIDE EFFECTS
They are a bunch of McGill guys who can sure play.
I've seen them at Club Zone and Swimming, so keep a look out and check them out.
