  1. Yep. Two full sets of Grateful Dead; undiluted, no horsesh*t; just smooth vibe. I won't give you the full setlist, but Stranger, Dupree's, Box of Rain, T of G, Wharf Rat, Other One; these are sure to be heard. Of course, COMFORT STATION are gonna start the evening off with their upbeat, groovy sound.

    Saturday December 11 at Mavericks, 221 Rideau St. ;)

    (Grateful Dead ::)

  2. I may be going out on a limb here: isn't it possible/probable that the American and Canadian political electoral systems are just as corrupt, if not completely rigged, like what appears to be happening in Ukraine?

  3. Hey Rob. We go through plenty of sturdy cardboard boxes at Long and McQuade Music. There is a bin at the back of the store specifically for broken-down cardboard, and quite often you will find a pile of whole boxes there. Give me a call at the store and I can scope it out for you. TMNS is gigging on Dec 11, but having just gone through a horrendous move, I send you the spirit of strength and good fortune in your transition to the new home!

    Cheers,

    Terry

  4. Hey, thanks to everybody who made it out to Mavericks last night! Comfort Station rocked :: and RGD rolled Beethoven over :: We all had a great time. I should get my voice back in a couple of days, so all is good. Let me mention that TMNS are playing 'Dead at that club on December 11.

    To those who are heading to Bob Wiseman at the Saw today; enjoy!

  5. In a TMNS show, we play musical pieces that were performed by the Grateful Dead, and we attempt to play them in the same style as that band would have. That leaves plenty of space for interpretation and improvisation, which to me is the most wonderful part of the 'Dead's legacy. Our group formed in '95 to play a musical tribute when Jerry passed away. No one knew we would still be together 9 years later! Personally, the last thing I wanted to do musically was to be in a cover band. Somehow, though, covering the music of the Grateful Dead is

    different than any other. Some of you will know what I mean...

  6. I have recently moved to a home with two huskies and a Siamese cat. At first my allergies were inflamed, but as weeks have passed I seem to be steadily more immune. I am, however, still allergic to other peoples'

    pets, but maybe a little less than before. I noticed this same phenom when I moved away from home (3-cats...)and would only visit my folks. All of a sudden, I became noticibly more sensitive to my own cats' dander.

    Hang on, and be positive!

    :)

  7. This is a little last-minute, with such as busy musical week here in the Capital, but...

    The 'Daddies are doin' it up!!! This Saturday, November 13th , Real Gone Daddies are bringing their zestful blend of funk, Latin, jazz, groove and progressive rock out for a ride. Steve Geyer has recently joined the band, adding his skill and versatility as a multi-timbril keyboardist to the "Real Gone" sound. With that ever-elusive CD release now at least visible on the horizon, watch as these guys begin to turn on the heat!

    Opening the night in style will be a group of creative dudes we all know as Comfort Station . Freshly-energized by a Hallowe'en tour that included shows in Kingston and Toronto, these guys are ready to turn it on for the homeys!

    Catch it all at Mavericks , 221 Rideau St, near Ottawa's Byward Market.

  8. Show up on Saturday night for TMNS w/Real Gone Daddies (at Mavericks, 221 Rideau St in Ottawa)with your Flames colours flying, and we'll let you in free! The club will be leaving their tv on for this (without play-by-play), so you can groove to the music while you dig the game. This offer ends at 10pm, as the idea is to get you out for at least half of the Real Gone Daddies' set (which starts at 9:30).

    Go, Calgary! ::
