there's a bonus disc (#7), that's got a 17-minute "visions of johanna" ... goddamn, anybody hear that yet ?

i was contemplating seeing them here in boston last monday, but didn't feel like making the gamble ($30 ticket) on something that i hadn't heard in years. i liked Air for their spacy, psychedelic sound, and i was a little concerned that it would be the electro-techno-stuff that i'm not a fan of.
can you describe what it was like ?

cool. apparently i have a date with you sometime soon, and it's gonna last a while.

did ya bleach & dab your eyes too ?

happy pappy Eric ! go for a nice long bike ride today in memory of your birthday and Mr. Hofmann's great discovery. the world has been infinitely better off since the introduction of both of these.
see you soon (in about a month)

what's that film where some kid eats a bunch of X and then starts groovin out in the grocery store to the cashier sounds ? not a great movie at all, but that scene is pretty funny.

yup, '91 was the last time indeedy. the folks at kimock-kamp have asked me to round up some people to help spread the word. if anybody is interested shoot me an email - tatterdemalion99@yahoo.com. we can get fliers/posters sent to a copy place near you, and i'm pretty sure a few guest passes can be dished out. opera house is too huge a venue for kimock, but if the word gets out it might hit a decent number.

can you divide the costs corresponding to each component for us ?

speaking of sit-ins, mike gordon sat in last night at the local neighbourhood thai restaurant i was at. the way they spice the food, i'm sure he was dropping some serious bombs later in the evening.

friendly, you know i got yo' back on the quality control/quality assurance.

the front by the Mule is certainly justified, as is No Quarter. goddamn !
You're the One is an old Kimock tune that was even played in the Zero days. Oh, and Kimock occasionally does an instrumental Stella Blue which is stellar.
as for the Jerry covers, i think he had great taste too, even into the 90's. Way You Do The Things You Do !
Panic's version of WalkOn is fun if you're there, but doesn't really do the song full justice.

pretty interesting. there's a huge contingent here in boston & nyc that have really backed this band, and for decent reason. many think that these guys have given new jazz some hope. i think it's interesting music, with alot of good/fun covers. they're experimental, yet not necessarily "way out, dude" kinda experimental.
here's what they played last night here in beantown:
FIRST SHOW
> 1. Let Our Garden Grow (Iverson) – a “world premiere,” according to
> Reid. A rowdy, rollicking number.
> 2. And Now We Test Our Powers of Observation (Anderson)
> 3. Three Flames (King)
> 4. Heart of Glass (Blondie)
> 5. 1979 Semifinalist (King)
> 6. Do Your Sums-Die Like A Dog-Play For Home (Iverson)
> 7. Dirty Blonde (Anderson)
> 8. Neptune, The Planet (Anderson)
> 9. Stacks of Cash (Iverson)
> 10. Layin’ A Strip For The Higher-Self State Line (King)
> 11. Big Eater (Anderson)
> 12. Velouria (the Pixies) – encore
>
> SECOND SHOW
> 1. Street Woman (Coleman)/And Now We Test Our Powers of Observation
> (Anderson)
> 2. Keep The Bugs Off Your Glass And The Bears Off Your Ass (King)
> 3. Cheney Pinata (Iverson)
> 4. Knowing Me, Knowing You (Abba)/Unknown orchestral work(Strauss)
> 5. Everywhere You Turn (Anderson)
> 6. Let Our Garden Grow (Iverson)
> 7. 1979 Semifinalist (King)
> 8. Big Eater (Anderson)
> 9. Prehensile Dream (Anderson)
