i played the "name the old school wrestler" game with a friend at work a few days ago...we totally missed tito santana and the bushwhackers! pure gold!

my favourite, who i completely forgot about was HILLBILLY JIM!

OMG...i saw farhenheit 911 in a theatre in michigan...when it was over, all i could think of is i need to get outta here.

even if farhenheit 911 isn't all true and even if it shows a biased viewpoint, the fact of the matter is, it's about 2 hours long, and you have to leave the house and pay money to go and see it. watching that movie is a conscious decision.

fox news is pumped homes in about 75% of the USA 24/7 and is branded as "fair and balanced" news. their slogan before every report is "fair and balanced...you decide". and this documentary shows several obvious ways in which they report exclusively in the favour of republicans and specifically the bush administration. bill o'reilly is shown repeatedly telling people with democratic viewpoints to "SHUT UP" and then ordering staff to have their mics cut...i honestly cannot believe this is simply accepted on a regular basis.

the girl who showed me the dvd told me that the only news station she gets is fox news and it's 100% as depicted in the documentary too.

really REALLY scary stuff. i should be getting the movie in a week or so...if anyone wants to borrow it, just let me know...EVERYONE should see this.

hahahaha!!! i see your point alexis! but it's not actually a free show...lee's palace is charging cover that night and we're not working the door, so we have to give the bar a list, which is why we have to ask for names...we're just trying let as many people as possible take advantage...you don't have to join our email list or anything like that...just give your name and you're on the list.

i honestly can't believe the sound we got out of 2 sm58's and a minidisc! i give full credit to the great sound in that room and the sound guy for making it sound so good. i'd even venture to say BEST ROOM EVER!

My roomate quit with Zyban over 2 years ago and hasn't smoked since. He followed the directions that came with it to the letter...he also threw away every ash tray, lighter, and anything else he ever associated with smoking the day before his quit date and washed all his clothes so there was no smell of smoke. Gave him a fresh start and it helped.

Oh yeah, and he hit the price club HARD...cases of werthers, licorice, wine gums, chewing gum, etc...it got him through it.

Darren's been doing a project called The Join every Thursday at Harmony, with members that rotate...and sometimes the members are the new deal...they've done that before (I think it was the night they played Nathan Phillips Square)...I'd imagine it's true

We're really looking forward to opening a couple of nero shows this weekend. Friday is at PepperJack's in Hamilton and Saturday is at the 360 in Toronto. We'll be hitting the stage at around 10:00 pm with nero coming on after us to tear it up. I can't wait!

if anything, these hurricanes are HELPING bush's campaign. i think he's been down to florida like 6 times so far, pledging help for the people affected by the hurricane...and essentially bribing them for votes

kerry doesn't have the advantage of being able to pledge federal money to those people as he has no control over it.

you want a conspiracy theory? the bush administration has a weather machine and they're using it to win florida (i don't think that's true, but it's funny to think about)

I had dinner with my friend's family a few days after the SARS fest in Toronto.

His grandma was there and she was talking about the festival. She said she thought it was great, except for "that band with the man who looks like a bird and sings like a woman".

I almost died laughing. Geddy got burned by my friend's grandma!

The other bands are the Grape Smugglers and Antizerio...I think they're both from Ottawa...haven't heard them myself.

Hey post-evolvers. Melissa from Wassabi Collective has gotten her drum swiped from the Evolve site. It's a medium sized djembe, worn natural finish, leopard-skin straps, stored in a padded rasta-colour (red gold green) drum bag.

After a great weekend playing with Diesel Dog in Hamilton and then at the Jimmy Jazz in Guelph, we'll be out in full force again this weekend.

This Thursday we'll be playing at the Rivoli where we'll be joined by a group called project3media who will be doing live visuals on the big screen while we play. I don't know exactly what they're going to do, but I definitely want to videotape the show so I can see it later...it's sure to be SICK.

Then we're off to Ottawa on Friday to play one of our favourite rooms - Cafe Dekcuf. We haven't been there since our June Tour and we're all really excited to get back to our nation's capital.
