As far as I know they'll be crankin' up the DJ at 11 sharp, so we are to be playing 9:00 sharp till 11:00 sharp...

As the jam-band revolution tightens its grip on the O-town scene, Dr.Huxtable in conjunction with Nugget Productions, is proud to open up a new front in the battle for space-funk supremacy, this time on the normally reserved and conservative Elgin St. scene....

It seems our friends at Maxwells, 340 Elgin Street, are looking for a way to spice up their Thursday nights, and after a kind endorsement by friends Ferriswheeler, we were approached to play Maxwell's this Thursday, April 11th, at the special time of 9:00-11:00...This show is very much an experiment for the bar to test the waters for becoming a music venue, and we would love to

PACK the place, and convince them that

highly-intuitive-imporvisational-space-funk, is much more preferrable to the Macarena!!!

So replace that Ralph Lauren golf shirt with a tie dye, trade in that martini for a Sammy Adams, toss away that pesky bra, and join the revolution this Thursday!!

Just got confirmation from the Royal Canadian Mint that to commemorate the release of the new $5 bills, they will be at the Dekcuf this friday giving away samples....(limit 200/customer)

actually, we decided to wait one more gig to unleash Scotty onto the world, he's still learning our tunes, takes time....and as a great man once said...."we want everything to be just exactly perfect!!"

Interesting Brad....I think the fact that I'll be playing the Hofner (Beatle bass) which is a very mid/high range bass, might make it easier to dual with Egan, who will be playing a more traditional bass....

Ferriswheeler (just back and hot from tour) and Dr.Huxtable have a very special evening of music planned for this Friday March 29th at Cafe Dekcuf. The roots of friendship between our bands go back many, many, years (to pre-O-town days) and after discussing and anticipating it for literally several years, we are extremely excited to finally be playing a gig together!!

The show will be live webcast from canadianbands.net and in the spirit of "the music never stop(ing)" we will melt our sets together with as many as 9 musicians taking the stage at once for the set-transition and again throughout the course of the evening....we hope to fill every second of the webcast with funky jams and familiar gems that we have been busy un-earthing...

So, with all due consideration to the other great music happening this Friday (we love you Brad) please consider checking out what we hope will be a great night of musical exploration and collaboration!!

I have three MINT '98 Other Ones shows (soundboards) that I'm gonna be burning like crazy when I get a burner in a few days, I would love to spread some of the GRATE music around to y'all...I'm a big Others Ones booster. Hornsby is a moody guy, I mean, is he trying to say he's played more compelling music with his own band...I really don't think Huey Lewis tunes on Accordian come close to an 18 minute Dark Star with surviving members of the Dead...yah, I'm a little bitter...
