Right NOW Jamhub.ca has a slight edge of 3-2 signed up, with 5 that haven't shown their allegience.

So far it seems like we have equal interest from both Jamhub and Jambands, so I thought of an idea that might encourage a Rivalry between the sites.

SO SHOW YOUR JAMBANDS LOYALTY AND SIGN UP SO WE CAN BEAT THE SNOT OUT OF THE JAMHUBIANS.

I thought that it might be a good idea to split the league into 2 divisions. This would only be useful for CD distribution, meaning that the winner of each division recieves a CD from all the losers of the division, and whichever division averages the most points receives CDs from the losing divison. Something like that.

I would just like to know your thoughts and ideas on this.

Also, if you are in the league or are joining the league

Could you please put the initials JB or JH (JamBands or JamHub) at the end of your team name.

YOu can edit you team name by going into MY TEAM then into EDIT TEAM INFO. This is just temporary until the season get under way so I can find out who is from where.

March 24 is Tea Leaf Green so probably best to leave it till Sunday, give all atendees a chance to clear their heads.

I'm going to set a pre-rankings deadline of March 23rd. Ill post it in the league site.

Lets see how much interest there is first then we can try to work out a time when we know who is in. I say if we do this we should have the draft on March 26th Sunday, so we have a week before the season starts to make any adjustments. I am going to leave it as an autodraft for now just in case things don't work out.

Every auto-draft I have been in has been over right after the waiver session. Its a total crapshoot.

I have an idea that we can do, if others agree. There is an option of live drafting on yahoo. In this draft we have to arrange a time to do this (I would suggest Sunday March 26, afternoon/evening). If people are not present at the draft their pre-rankings will select for them. Also if you only want to be present for say the first 5 rounds, you can leave and let you predraft rankings do the rest.

I offered this up to jamhub.ca members as well, so maybe we can get a friendly rivalry going.

I haven't set the draft date yet but Im thinking that about 4 days before the season starts, so people have a chance to pick up and drop players on the waiver list before the season begins.

I hate autopick pick too but it's definitely the easiest way to draft this many players with a lot of teams.

Is there a way to get this post stuck at the top of the forum?

I have assigned point values to the above statistical categories in what I thought is the best and most evenly distributed system that rewards players and pitchers evenly. Every team will draft 1 of every field position, 1 DH Utility player (any position) 4 starting pitchers, 4 relief pitchers, 1 pitcher (either SP or RP) and 5 bench players that can be subed in at any time, at any position. You also have 5 DL (disabled list) spots where you can put any player that is injured on & pick up another player to replace temporarily. There is no maximum trades or waiver pickups but there is a August 13th deadline. Yahoo is a pretty good system for baseball pools and it is very easy to use.

Every team loses 2 cds at the most

1st place gets 10 cds (from 2nd - 11th place)

2nd place get 7 cds (from 12th - 18th place)

3rd place gets 2 cds (from 19th -20th place)

Last place gets 1 cd (from 1st place)

Jambands vs Jamhub :

Take the total points from the top 6 teams from each site.

The reason I say the top 6 is because their is always teams that lose interest and stop updating their teams.

Whomever has the most points wins.

If jamhub wins,

1st place Jambands gives a CD to 1st place Jamhub

2nd to 2nd

3rd to 3rd, etc

To Ottawa...Jokinen-Luongo...

That leaves Ottawa with enough salary cap to finish off the year...In the off season the only free agent they would really have to deal with is Chara.

All of you are crazy, Florida would have never made that trade. If any team wants Luongo you better be ready to shell out a franchise player in return because Luongo has repeatedly said he wants to stay with the team as long as they are serious about putting together a winning team, which they have to be if they have Keenan and Jacques Martin at the helm.

I must confess I am a knowledgable fan of the Florida Panthers and have been since their inception. Feel free to mock me, I have no other choice but to accept it due to their lack of putting together a competitive team for 10 years. The only comeback I have is that they made it to the Stanley Cup finals in 1996.

I know it wouldn't because most players have to much pride for that and you would never be able to get 25 players on each team to agree and keep it secret.

BUT theoretically it could happen.

Alright, I'll mail you one of these extra Toronto beers that won't be consumed during the NHL Playoffs.

This makes for an interesting scenario, where Canada and Mexico could agree to a 1-0 score, knowing that Canada & Mexico would both advance and USA would be left out.

It works out strategically for both of them because they both get in and they don't have to face the Americans very potent line-up in the next round. :crazy:

The downside to this scenario is that the bad press and contreversy would badly damage this tournament.

Just a suggestion but I think the winner of the League should have his CD's from his division given to Badams for organizing and updating the league.

If I win I'm forwarding mine to him regardless.

While my ideals don't and hopefully never will line up with the conservative right winged mindframe, I do understand completely where you are coming from. I feel anything over 10 years ruled by the same idealogy is too long. Good ideas and bad ideas come out of every party and i think its time to take some of the good from the conservatives.
