  1. Vince Vaughn was arrested by North Carolina cops in April 2001 and charged with fighting in public for his part in a brawl outside a New Hanover County bar (the movie star was in town working on the film "Domestic Disturbance"). During the melee, fellow actor Steve Buscemi was stabbed several times. Vaughn entered a no contest plea and the minor charge was dropped six months later.

    1. Take an old CD or CD-R and put it in the oven, standing up. Put it against a glass cup or so. Don't use any metal as a holder. It will look like the image shown below. This image is a computer generated and rendered image from Carl Licke / Turbid design but the CD part in the middle is an actual taken picture. Notice the difference in the pattern that will show up in the metal layer in the CD between a normal silver CD and a green or gold or blue CD-R. Make sure you don't inhale the gas that comes out of the CD. It's not too good for your health, so they say ;-]

Note that the CD will be unusable afterwards

This is actually what you see when you put a CD in your microwave oven.

Definatly the best comic book adaptation I've ever seen. If you like Tarrentino films you should see this movie before it leaves the theaters.

Real news for Stewart: Wife arrested

Jon Stewart could be forgiven if he arrived a little late to yesterday's taping of "The Daily Show." He was busy getting his wife, Tracey McShane, out of jail.

The normally wisecracking comic looked understandably anxious as he waited while his handcuffed sweetheart spent close to five hours being booked for driving with a suspended license.

McShane, 36, was driving through Central Park around 11 a.m. when she was pulled over for a moving violation, police confirmed to us.

Stewart's spokesman, Matt Labov, said: "She wasn't speeding. But the police discovered that she had a suspended license. She didn't even realize it. She paid a ticket last week. But apparently her check hadn't been processed."

Following procedure, cops impounded her car, cuffed her, loaded her into a squad car and took her to Central Booking.

There, police sources said, she was fingerprinted, posed for a mug shot and held while cops checked to see if there were any outstanding warrants for the arrest of the mother of 8-month-old Nathan Stewart.

A squad car eventually took her back to the Central Park station, where her husband, 42, was waiting for her.

Police said she was issued a desk appearance ticket.

McShane, a veterinary technician who shies from the spotlight, smiled as she was photographed during her perp walk - as though she half-expected "Daily Show" correspondent Rob Corddry to pop out with a mike.

Labov said, "She's out, and she's fine. Jon said the cops were very nice and professional."

  5. Summary:

The US military is developing a new “plasma weapon” designed to inflict non-lethal but excruciating pain from long distances. The weapon is being designed with rioters/demonstrators in mind, and seems to be the logical extension of the mentality that relegates all public expressions of dissent to free-speech cages. I also wonder whether its development is any indication of the government’s expectation of more widespread dissent in the near future.

Blink-182 announced Tuesday they are going on an "indefinite hiatus," possibly bringing to a close their decade-plus career of catchy but angsty radio hits, goofball videos, stand-up comedy stage banter and millions of albums sold worldwide.

  7. Welch broke the news Sunday on Bakersfield, Calif., station KRAB-FM.

"Korn Guitarist Finds God, Leaves Band

Tue Feb 22, 8:31 PM ET Entertainment - Reuters

    By Jonathan Cohen

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has parted ways with the hard rock act, citing a recent religious awakening.

I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you," Welch said. "I'm good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they're very happy for me."

Addressing the aggressive tone of the music he made with Korn, Welch said, "Anger is a good thing, and if kids want to listen to Korn, good, but there's happiness after the anger. I'm going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans."

Welch added that he would be appearing at a local church on Feb. 27, during which time he would "speak (about) how I got to this place in my life, and I'll answer all your questions."

On its official Web site (http://www.korn.com), Korn's remaining members said they respect Welch's wishes and hope "he finds the happiness he is searching for." The group is in the studio working on a new album, due in September, which will be its first since fulfilling its contract with Epic last year.

For now, no replacement for Welch has been named, nor has a new label home for the band.
