  1. Good read.

Still pretty much the same story...the regular kid asks "can they come after me"..

Are "they" coming after you? If "they" are the record companies and movie studios, maybe. Depends who you believe.

Better question is, can they come after you? That requires a bit of co-operation from your ISP. A court decision (called BMG v. Doe) a few years back held that ISPs didn't have to turn over subscriber information, but that case was pretty fact-specific. The court gave copyright owners step-by-step instructions on how to make ISPs disclose this kind of info, and there's not much I can see in the bill that would change the court's ruling.

That aspect is still pretty vague - its not up to police or government, but rather copywrite holders to execute a law suit.

Overall - this just adds to the dismal failure that is the "behind closed doors" policy making feature of the government today. (remember legal boarder crossing by can/us governments?)

    puke.

  2. From their track record with canadian dates I'm very bewildered about that hamilton gig. What a fuckin treat!

I hope I win the tree.

From the the Onion, interview with John McCrea:

We’re giving away a tree every time we play for the rest of our career — however long that lasts. We’ll ask some question like “How long did the Civil War last?†Last night somebody answered “four yearsâ€, and they were right, and we gave them a Colorado Blue Spruce. We’re asking them to send a picture of themselves standing next to the tree every year or two, and we’ll watch the tree grow as the person shrinks.

  3. shut the fuck.

  4. 6Hell yes!!! Thank you everybody! This thread put a big smile on my face and made me all warm & tingly inside.

Ollie, that is exactly the picture I wanted to see. What is the opposite of purple font? My Favey!

    PEI!!!!!!!!!! nice pose Schwampy :)

Everything today is so far so good - played a great evening softball game yesterday, went out for drinks, woke up a bit spun this morning...some bike riding and a complimentary steak lunch & Bass ale pint from the local pub. I've just been chilling with the Rev for the last little while. Fantastic weather all day and I couldn't possibly ask for anything else...Aside from a trip to the Modern India Buffet...hrrmmm...

    Thanks everyone!

  5. Agreed, small venue is so much better (though the music hall felt bigger then normal)

In toronto they used strobes for the flashes - seems that they try something different each time I see them. Before the big fire in the US club they'd use the pyrotechnic stuff which would leave me blind for 20 mins (Only way to see it IMHO...or not see it...whatever). You also loose the "BANG" without the pyro. When they play the Waiting Room on the other tour they'd blind the crowd with white spot lights, maybe they should do something like that.

The sound and show were superior on Saturday, though on that night I couldn't see the keyboard player and sometimes the drummer so I was focused on guitar and bass. That endless 9/8 riff under the keyboard solo is absurd - how they don't fuck it up i'll never know

  6. The first night was a heap of drunks and the second there were mostly families and kids.

The new drummer had the chops but lacked enthusiasm at some points (or he wasn't loud enough in the mix) and also didn't really do the vocals quite like martin.

You know exactly what you missed other then that.

The neon triangle box-head thing gets me every time. Always jaw dropping to seem them nail suppers ready...goosebumps!

  7. i'm trying to sell a tube amp on craigslist and I get this guy:

    Charlie.

    what a douche bag

  8. [The gasoline would probably cost more than the burger ..

10 points. Not even counting 'Drive Thru'!

The quality of meat at fast food joints aside, (Fucking disgusting) and I've never read Fast Food Nation or watched Super Size Me (not that you have to) but i'm amazed by the resource allocation necessary to make fast food work. A shitty meal provided in mere seconds.

And one day only - all for free.

  9. I appologise on behalf of the Midnight Shift for a discraceful Dire Wolf...

Aside from that plunder we all had a great time, thanks for keeping up with us until the wee hours!

Ricky and Ryan - thank you SO much for sitting in second set, it really wouldn't have been as successful without you boys. Still waiting for that blister to heal from Allmans 'you don't love me'! (Thanks also to Steve Murphy for the awesome harp playing and Mark Wilson for having us!)

Schwa...you better have been passed out or dead...though it was still nice to see you for all but 2 mins.
