  1. Okay now we're getting somewhere. Two fine Slip posters sit on either side of the Vinyl front door now. It was great to see slick looking flyers lying around too (although they've been putting them out a lot and are running real low I gather- needs a top up).

    the flyer's are slick.

we printed 5000 of them so i'll bring more up on monday.

also i think we'er getting another poster made.

one that gives the openers alittle bit more of the billing.

  2. or you could just check out the songs on there websites. you might just like them. and want to come down early.

I find your sound and patient logic tiring' date=' frustrating and enraging.

    Why are you so beautiful?

  3. I'm grateful but the multi band bill is frustrating. I think it came from the band 100% though. Fortunately for the promoters though Lovely Feathers have a lot of fans in Guelph- the only info out there in Guelph right now is word of mouth about Lovely Feathers playing (and some band called the Slip). That's another point- it's Nov. 22 and there's not a single poster or flyer up anywhere, no ticket location, nothing. I just hope they don't lose money as a result of poor promotion. Just putting the iron to the fire.

As to the 10 min. changeovers that NEVER happens. The first band will likely go on late, the changeovers will drag and it will come out as it did- I doubt it'll cut into a 90 min. set though. Unless someone is really cracking the whip bands just amble around listlessly. It's like herding cats.

i just got back from Guelph put a few posters up. witch then i told that your not aloud to posters in Guelph. some by law bullshit?

anyways there's flyers at the bar for you Luke, i drop off tickets for Guelph and Hamilton tonight get well there cheap. we'er only doing 100 adv tickets in both Guelph and Hamilton. after there gone door price only.

  4. with the slip hitting the stage at midnight every night.

    bingo.

This thread is like a bizarro world to me' date=' I suddenly find myself agreeing with Willy.

Not everyone is so horny for live music they want to see a parade of bands. Some of us have a finite threshold for it. So the options for these shows are, get down there early and catch all the acts, or just head down to the bar around midnight to catch the headliner. [/quote']

  5. You bastards should be thankful that you get any shows at all.

I think you may be getting confused about the business relationship in place here. We (the bastards) are the consumer. We get to bitch about and criticize stuff. It's our money being laid down here. You think we should be thankful? Yes' date=' just like Zune owners should be thankful that Microsoft [u']tried to make a completitive MP3 player rather than complaining about its problems. I just don't see how you figure.

I am very thankful that people like Shane work hard to bring us live music. That doesn't however, mean that I succeed my rights as the consumer. That's a ludicrous idea.

    thanks for the support willy.

i'd like to address your statment regarding the rights of a consumer. i think the only right a consumer really has is to buy it or don't buy it.

most bitching comes from a consumer that hasn't reseached the product before buying.

this really has nothing to with live shows.

$15 for three bands doesn't really give anyone the right bitch about anything.

  6. Hey Mr. Promoter' date=' thanks for getting an awesome lineup for the Ottawa show. a 90 minute set is ideal. All three bands are great. The bar is perfect. [/quote']

    I totally agree. It's a "3-band thrill for a 20-dollar bill".

And our Ottawa show is on a Friday night to boot!

as for change over, it should be no less then 10min per act.

Not complaining here, but I think you meant to say "no more than 10min" (I hope!)

yup your right. NO MORE THEN 10MINS.

thanks for supporting these bands. there all of the same caliber. and will bring it every night.

  7. Sure, but the bar doesn't have to close at 2 AM - they just have to stop serving alcohol. I've been at plenty of bar shows that have ended a lot closer to 3 AM than to 2 AM. As for the 2-set deal, hey - I would want that too! But as far as I know, this entire tour has been a one-set, ~90 minute show - which I believe would mostly be the band's choice. I'm sure you would see fewer openers if it had been a 2-set show.

i know hamilton and toronto wont have a huge issue with bands playing after 2am.

  8. nope thats an error on the slip's website.

the billing for all 4 shows are

DECEMBER 7th - VINYL, GUELPH, ON

w/ The Lovely Feather and Kill The Lights

DECEMBER 8th - PEPPERJACKS CAFE HAMILTON, ON

w/ The Lovely Feather and Kill The Lights

DECEMBER 9th - EL MOCAMBO, TORONTO, ON

    w/ Kill The Lights

DECEMBER 15th- BERRYMORE'S MUSIC HALL, OTTAWA, ON

w/The Lovely Feathers and Land Of Talk

and as stated before the slip are contracted to play a minimum 90min+++++++ set.

as for change over, it should be no less then 10min per act. with the slip hitting the stage at midnight every night.

  9. "Even a square like me, can acknowledge that that was fun fuckin' times. Show Whore, how did I miss you? That screwdriver is still on the bar waitin' for ya ;)

Perhaps I'll see you tonight at Lure."

    no worries.

i will be around for BA this week. BA is my favorite canada male signer. he should really try out for that idol thing.

  10. any chance we can get a taper out to this show?

Possibly. I wasn't planning on going out this weekend but I am slightly tempted to see what the band sound like.

What time are they taking the stage? If I've got the energy at the end of the work day I might hual my laptop over there and record the show.

If you do' date=' I would be really interested in getting a copy of the show if possible. I've basically worn out my studio album and i'd love to get some live stuff.

    [/quote']

Jackfruit will hit the stage around 11:30-12:00
