  1. Thanks for the kind words :) We are so estatic at the outcome of our trip !!! I knew I had an interview and that was about it... our plan was to hit a three night run of DSO and to check out the area to possibly move there and everything just fell into place... two words to describe Asheville which is a quote from a movie we watched at our friend Rich's the night before we left his place in Connecticut called Trips Festival... "Pretty Impressed" :D if you have ever seen the movie you will know what I'm talking about...if you have not seen it I highly recommend it.

Ol'Hickster - doubt it but I'm sure we will cross paths one of these dayz...

phorbesie - that would be great, shoot us a pm.

bouche - its an amazing job to us since we thought it was going to be harder for me being a canadian to get a job down there... I am now an engineering design technician for an international compamy that produces printing transfer supplies for the graphic printing industry(magazines etc.) I'll be working in their reasearch and development dept.

Afropoppa- You better be growing that fro back for the roadtrip...

  2. The Assassination of Jesse James just came out on DVD

Anyone seen this yet? I've heard mixed reviews. I loved 3:10 To Yuma.

Watched it last night. Brilliant character study' date=' and as Jaimoe said, a very well done psychological drama. It's not an action flick, so temper your expectations accordingly - a lot of people seem to not like the length or the pacing. Both worked fine for me, but I'm also ever-hungry for any re-telling of that story. (Incidentally, the 1986 TV-movie "The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James" featuring Johnny Cash as Frank James and Kris Kristofferson as Jesse James is worth watching if you can dig up a copy. June Carter Cash is in it too - how fucking cool is that?)

I really enjoyed the re-make of 3:10 too. The Assassination ... is a very different kind of movie, though. Worth a go, at least.

    [/quote']

Just watched this tonight, and must add my voice to the chorus of praise here. Quite enjoyable.

Thanks for the reviews, pumped to see this even more, I had forgotten about it...ha ;)

  3. I have not seen the movie, but had the unfortunate expirence of hearing a mouldy peaches song one morning a few weeks ago on some stupid morning show, where they were on promoting themselves and the movie... it was a trainwreck that I could not look away from and was floored at how they could be popular and someone actually wanted to use there monotone nothingless music in a movie...

to their defense, I only heard the one song...and have not seen the movie...that one song was really really REALLY bad though :D

  4. Sorry if this has been posted already, I tried to do a search on here but didn't find anything.

If you have not seen this documentary yet, find it and watch it asap !!!

    Here is the website:

Some of my fav highligts from it are:

Erykah Badu's comments - hilariously wacky

    and

Hearing Doyle Bramhall's story and the clip of him and Clapton rippin' it up...awesome.

For those of you that have not seen this I hope you get the chance to enjoy it as much as we did :)

  5. Great book! A nice sequel to Microserfs. I heart Douglas Coupland.

Microserfs is the only other book of his I have fully read. I read almost all of Girlfriend in a Coma but can't remember if I finished it or not..ha..definately not as good as

    Microserfs or JPod

Looking forward to reading some of his other gems.

  6. hey newrider i think your problem is that your ipod is set to automatically manage songs rather than maually manage them yourself. This means that your computer automatically mirrors whatever is in your librabry in the itunes program. this used to happen to me all the time. check under options/settings you should be able to figure it out!! hope that helps

totally the prob, just change it to manually manage your songs.

  7. no I was sick as a dog returning from vegoose that night arriving in toronto to find that aircanada lost my luggage, it wasn't a good night...

plus the captain and I didn't even know each other at this point...

I was hoping to make that show though until the above happened...

    great pic! :)
