  1. Hey Giggles I would love to try one of your basses! You have any pictures!?

I also have a Warwick Corvette Fretless bass which is a dream to play just don't really have such a use for fretless. I mainly bought it because my fender buzzed so bad! Thing is it's made of really heavy Bubinga wood and pretty much rips my shoulder off, if played for a while.

At one point I was really set on getting a Modulus Quantum 5, yes the one that mike uses. I saw one in the L&M by me and they had one for $2500, but I had no cash so what can you do?

Sticking with my Mesa Walkabout and Eden 2x10, nice and compact and sounds vary nice!

  2. Nice to see another Lakland player! Not sure of my model but it is SO versatile. Pick up switches to sound like a jazz/p bass, ernie ball and even a nice jaco tone. So it's all these basses on one!

It has a jazz bass pick up with a humbucker both are bartolini.

You don't have to make an appointment though, never heard of that, but may be a good idea if you are driving far.

    BASS!

  3. I have never understood this to be honest and would much rather have that original Fender, also their cases are awesome hehe

I play a Lakland and bought it after seeing it on craigs list and going to the guys house and trying it. Mainly because it was such a crisp and professional tone and the Low B sounded SO crisp! It is really hard to find a 5 string bass with such a crisp Low B.

If your ever in the Toronto/Etobicoke area this place is MUST for ALL bass players! They are the only ones who carry Lakland, Sadowsky, Markbass and other high end boutique quality amps and basses!

Just look and what they have in stock, my my.....

  4. This is something that ALL BANDS should be worried about the truth is it is damn hard to sing and well at that. For me I just go for it and write mostly instrumental music because lyrics are tough. Unless I had help from a friend like oh, Hunter or Marshall.......

Couple main things that draw me into a 'jam' or 'jam bands' is the unknown. I became a better musician by going out on a limb and improvising. However it got to a point where I wanted to do more and know what the possibilities are. So I started studying jazz! So to me improvising on a song has a certain jazz to it, whether or not it's a standard.

Plus I prefer to sing with my instrument and essentially what jazz does plus I'm not so inclined by vocal jazz, except Bobby McFerrin and a couple others.

Jam & Jazz not all that different.........?
