  1. Love Edwin he's a brother from wayback....Montreal is a little far for rehearsals though....keep him in mind if we need a last minute guy and get him to fake it....or get him to sit in for fun...

Andy is excellent-probably the best in town....have been talking with him for years to do the odd thing as he's a really good guy and quite open minded-and hearted....being the best it's hard to peg him down though since he's in such high demand....I have someone who might give it a go but am hoping somewhere in this jamband land here is a decent keys player who would like to get involved.....thanks for the suggestions-keep 'em coming if you got 'em....who, what and where is ersh?

Are there so few keys players or do they just hate this kind of music?

  2. .....interested in playing some Grateful Dead music?

Chris Paul is throwing a tribute for Jerry at the Carleton Tavern in August and I have a good band lined up except for keys.

I am the guitarist who played lead with TMNS (The Music Never Stopped) for ten long strange years in case you might have seen us......

We would love to have some keys so if anyone here plays or knows someone I would love to hear about it here.

So far there is myself (Dave Muir) on lead, Terry Calder guitar, Hux(geoff Smith) on bass and Dave Bissessar ( drummer from our Longbottom days).

    Keys please!

  3. Anything we can hold against the Leafs is well earned. Especially since we've accomplished more than they have since our latest incarnation. They've existed for sixty years more than us and only have a couple more cups than us to show for it.

And what of you my friend-are you one of those Hab bandwagon jumpers?

  4. They'll check for traces of some 'recreational' drugs...don't worry...unless you've been smoking crack all night it's not a big deal. Just admit you smoke because they'll know. It will cost you a bit more for your insurance but not an arm or a leg. Smokers pay a higher premium. If you can quit so easily just quit....but it takes a while to get out of your system so if you can't quit...forget about it...

They will obviously check for HIV and signs of illness so it's kind of a freebee in that regard. Don't worry about it....

  5. Bummer....

I actually missed the game. Of all the kick in the nuts things to happen I had to work the figure skating show at the Civic Centre. At least I made a good chunk of change. I have turned down work before for huge games like this...but there's nothing worse than losing the money and the game so I decided to suck it up and do the Stars on Ice.....ah well....I think the boys made us proud with the overtime game and there's no shame in losing in 6 to the champs......

With our injuries and all I still wouldn't have been completely shocked if we won the series but it was somewhat unlikely in the first place.....

  6. Great stuff and great for Carkner who was practicing his shots from the line today and remarked that he had a couple in him.

The Pens have got to be a little nervous that we may have remembered how to play them now with all this extra practice.

.. and I may have figured out how the Hockey Gods like to parlay....

  7. I haven't pooped my pants since the seventies. Were you on tour in the 70's you old fart?

I have my suspicions though I was partially employing some hyperbole....all you kids with your Flock of Seagulls dos never admitted to having dealt it no matter who smelled it....

For the record I was probably in the Kiss Army while you were pooping your pants....for all of those filling in their almanacs...

  8. That would be a great way to look at it if the dead were playing. :P

Well i'm gonna be shining like the sun out my back door and strolling down the riverside regardless. I was touring with the Grateful Dead when you were still poopin' yer pants so you don't have to remind me what the difference is you young whippersnapper.

I have yet sadly to find a band that can stand next to their mix of traditional song stylings, true improvisation lyrical profundity and social magic so even if they are singing in tribute to themselves it is certainly worth the stroll, the few hundred bucks and the enthusiasm!

...not that there aren't great new bands of course but none that have taken it Furthur....

  9. Yes sadly when the stuff hits the fan it will likely look like every other paradigm shift in society; a violent upheaval. The teabags are cluing into the fact that the recession was likely manufactured and that someone is manipulating the economy to their own advantage but their predictable response is to blame Obama and the other lefties of trying to destroy their economy so as to turn them all into commies.

Nevernind the obvious fact that our entire economic model is hopeless and needs to be rejigged from the ground up...they want more of the same expecting a better outcome

    for themselves.
