I was also present at a screening at Greg's house but it was earlier in the fall. I believe that NYE show in Charlottetown was JSB / GTB? Dec 31 2002? If so I was there too!

Also I'm pretty sure the journalist was my girlfriend at the time, Nina Chiarelli.

Great to see this again! Those were the daze....

Yep. JSB/GTB 2002. You were at the same hotel as us, think it was the first time we officially met. Believe we talked about St. Catherines, mutual friends and even my relatives there. (Strange that's the stuff I remember)

  2. I was at Greg's house a few days prior to the films release, and got to watch it then. We partied it up - hit a blues bar I believe and drank our share, and early the next day, all hung-over and still sorta enjoying the final stages of some fungus, Greg had an interview with a local Saint John reporter regarding his film. It was pretty hilarious. Considering the topic of the film, we all kind of got asked some questions when the journo found out some of us had traveled from Ontario on our way to a NYE show in Charlottetown. Good times.

Some where on one of my shelved HDDs is my review of the film, and our antics that week that I wrote for Jamhub/Uncle Funguy. It wasn't all that good though, and I retired from writing reviews altogether not longer after..lol

I've slacked a little on getting this finished, but I'm in the process of uploading to dropbox now. Since this forum is public (the threads for example) and due to dropbox sometimes not playing nice when one of my shares has been hit a lot of times, I'm going share the link privately - so if you want a 320 mp3 (7-zipped)) of this, post here and I'll PM you the link when its ready. I fyou want lossless, post and we'll work that out too. I downloaded every link I posted, except for the massive HD CBC one.

Has anyone downloaded the Ottawa show? I sure would love that in my Dropbox. I don't have a dime account and quite frankly don't need anymore torrent site accounts but really want that show.

I'd even appreciate an mp3'd version to share with non techie friends who were there.

I can help you out. I downloaded every link I posted, except for the HD CBC one. The Ottawa show is FLAC and 785 MB - I'd rather share it as is, but if you'd rather have mp3 I can do that too. The sound is pretty good, not much audience chatter in the forefront. Let me know what format and I'll get on it.

BTW - you did get the Levon & The Hawks Port Dover show I PM'd you on FB right? My dropbox account is close to filling up so I'd like to make some space, but want to make sure you got that before I do.

  6. Same one I posted on previous page. I didn't download it (was given a copy), but I have watched it both streaming and on Blu Ray for comparison.

Worth the d/l for those interested. Make sure to have VLC up to date

  8. You can sign up at dime, doesn't take long and they have fair ratio rules. I'm sure the audio/video will pop up on other trackers though.

There's this one up now as well (its HD so large files), at Trader's Den - you also need to be registered - they also have fair ratio rules, and like dime, it's a pretty active site.

  10. Stumbled across the first video on youtube. Curious I did some searching and found Geddy Lee talking about it. The Hip played Limelight in honour of Rush's induction into the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1994). I figured it had to be shared here. It's only a one minute clip, I'm guessing this is from a rehearsal judging by the room they are in. I'd love to get a complete video, or at least audio of them playing this

It doesn't get much more Canadian then this...

In a story that has been headline news in Canada for months, but hasn’t made much of a ripple stateside The Tragically Hip are in the middle of a farewell tour. The Hip have rounded the corner and are heading for home with their final concert scheduled for Saturday night at Kingston, Ontario’s Rogers K-Rock Centre. If you can’t attend what’s sure to be one of the most emotional nights in the history of live music, there are a few different options to watch from home or wherever you have an internet connection.

The Tragically Hip are heroes in their homeland of Canada, having received 14 Juno Awards and nine No. 1 singles over the course of a career that spans over 30 years. This past May, the band revealed frontman Gord Downie was battling a terminal case of brain cancer. Downie and his mates released a new studio album in June and embarked on a month-long tour in late July. In true Tragically Hip fashion, the five-piece will only play Canadian cities over the course of the tour. On Saturday, August 20 The Hip will end their career with a hometown show in Kingston.

The CBC will broadcast the final Tragically Hip concert to all of Canada, commercial-free via its television, radio and digital platforms. We started to fear those of us outside Canada would be unable to watch the finale through legal means. Thankfully, the CBC has revealed a global broadcast through CBCMusic.ca as well as the CBC Music iOS and Android apps. Look for SiriusXM to announce a broadcast throughout North America as well. CBC’s coverage of the final Tragically Hip concert is expected to start at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 20.
