  2. Read my last post.... ;)

I also have the 2004 Little Feat Hamilton show but its missing more then half the first track (if I recall). I know someone who recorded it stealth AUD (no idea why with SBD patches available), so I am waiting to get a copy of his show, or at least the track in question anyway so I can make the show complete.

That is the only issue with the 2004 show so hopefully the guy comes through...eventually.

    Notes:

I recieved this show on two CDRs, no source, transfer, lineage or taper info. I worked with Brian of 'Kick It Down Promotions' on this show and recall seeing a couple tapers with mini-disc recorders set up, but that was it, I'm assuming its from one of those sources.

This recording was riddled with SBEs, loads of digi-noise and not tracked very well. Using 'Traders Little Helper' I corrected the SBEs, 'Soundforge 8' for re-tracking, fades, removing digi-noise & fixing drop-outs.

I was able to clean the recording up to a listen-able quality (in my opinion of course). I did my best with it folks. It is a great show and does sound fantastic and seeing as though this show appears to be uncirculated at as of may 2006, I figured it was worth sharing, all flaws aside.

    Enjoy,

    Greg R. (esau13@gmail.com)

    -----------------------------------------------

    Noted & known Flaws:

d1t03 - @ 1:25 some static/digi-noise occurs off and on for another minute or so, cause unknown.

d1t03 - @ 3:39 static/digi-noise, left channel drop-out, repaired with Soundforge 8, right channel copied over until 4:20 but still suffers from some static/noise briefly, cause unknown.

d2t02 - @ 6:14 there is a "hic-up" so to speak, sounds like the recorder may have stopped and started quickly, there was a split second gap that I removed with Soundforge 8.

d3t04 - Started late, I used Soundforge 8 to create fade in. Missed was Paul introducing Willin' as the encore with mention of the new marijuana decriminalization proposed by the Canadian federal government.

  8. This probally deserves its own thread I imagine...

Vince & Friends tour is going on as scheduled next week and will feature Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten. Please let people know

With the passing of Grateful Dead keyboardist Vince Welnick on 6/2/06, the hearts of fans from around the globe have been broken. His untimely end came at a time when they had been mourning several other recent deaths of long term Grateful Dead iconic figures such as their roadie Lawrence “Ramrod†Shurtliff and Egyptian music legend and friend Hamza El Din.

In the spirit of healing and renewal, the decision has been made to continue the Vince Welnick & Friends upcoming tour scheduled to kick off on June 15th at the House of Blues in Chicago with another alumni of the legendary keyboard spot of the Grateful Dead, Tom Constanten.

Constanten, keyboardist of the Grateful Dead in the late 60’s and early 70’s, agreed to fill in for the tour because he felt that a tribute to Welnick was the right thing to do. Recently the two of them have been performing together in a band called the Psychedelic Keyboard Trio which also featured Grateful Dead MIDI Wizard Bob Bralove. Welnick and Constanten became fast friends.

When asked why he agreed to do this tour he replied: “I didn’t hesitate. Vince was a great gentlemen and a soldier of music. For that very reason, I miss him in a way that I can’t explain. I will honor his memory forever. Let’s make this a wonderful experience and let’s make Vince proud.â€

The tour will feature other friends of Welnick and travel throughout the Midwest through June 20th.

    6/15 House of Blues; Chicago

6/16 Rock Island; St Louis, MO

    6/17 & 18; The Venue; Tulsa, OK

6/19 The Gaslight Tavern; Lawrence, KS

6/20 The Mill; Iowa City, IA

Please come out and shine your lovelight together for Vince and Lorie.

  10. Thanks again to Willy & Leanne for the amazing weekend (and recording), as well, Caution Jam for the music & b-day requests. Made my night, I can't think of the last time I actually was up front of a show dancing, couple years I imagine, my back just doesn't allow that much movement anymore, I am paying for it today let me tell ya.

Most of everything after the cruise is a complete blur, some serious fun (and insane) times. Amazing seeing alot of faces I haven't seen in awhile..best way to spend a birthday in my mind. Thanks to all.

  11. Many thanks folks, must say it was probally one of the best birthdays I've had in years.

Talk about a good time, whoa, my head is still swimming in whiskey & rum. Huge thanks to Willy & Leanne for letting me tag along to their trailer for a couple days pre-boat cruise, made my weekend that much better. Thanks guys.

Back to my hookah & coffee..
