  1. its alot of things, the boardsa are laid out nicer than GGG, plated thru holes, nicer parts, nicer jacks. better custy service, better support on non-working builds etc etc etc.

but it all does boil down to the guy whos assembling it all.

ive been getting almost alll my boards lately from my buddy Barry at guitarpcb.com he has got a TON of boards to choose from but they arent as friendly as the byoc boards, thats for sure, they are for the intermediate or higher builder id say, just because the layouts are tight, and there is some real tight spacing on them. however they work flawlessly, and the price is right, and barry is a great guy to deal with, every weekend he has some crazy sale going on like spend 15 bucks and get a free board or something

  2. yeah the back in time part will be tricky but i just got my flux capacitors up and running so once the Doc gets back ill do that

ring mod up dist. is feasible, dry blend feasible, parallel phaser and all that shit maybe not so much right now, but maybe. we will see what i get in the box this week, just bought about 30 more circuit boards and i KNOW theres a rat in there lol

i really dont know why all these guys love the rat so much, ive met a few ppl just in the last few weeks that swear by it, i dunno.

should be a good show, this ottawa show sounds like its gonna be a rager

  3. thanks for keeping the hamster wheel turning Mike!!!

lost of good memories from this board. Second tube told me about it back in 2000 or 2001, i dunno, it took me another year or 6 months to sign up but, here i am.

i wish i still had that Homer avatar, i cant find it anywhere!!!

  4. the first one is my first digital delay build, works great!!! its a Ping-Pong, so you can dial in 2 diff. delay times, or the toggle switches the 2 chips in series and doubles the delay time with single repts, not double. circuit is built to sound warm and analog IE every rept gets a little "darker" or "warmer", this thing sounds killer!! i dont know why i was scared of a delay pedal build for so long, this one was tricky but not the worst ive done. finish didnt turn out that good, it was a rush spray paint job, but it works for now.

2nd is an all-germanium Tonebender Mk. II. a great fuzz, ive never been a fuzz guy but the last few that ive built have me convinced!! This is the same fuzz jimmy page used on the earlier stuff, and there are a ton of zep tones in this box, within minutes i found the dazed n confused solo, communication breakdown, the ocean, its a great pedal for sure!!! and for teh price some builders want for a tonebender clone (hundreds of $$ plus a few month waiting list) i am so happy i can just slap one together in the basement!!

both circuit boards came from BYOC months ago, they make great boards, thats for sure.

spent about a half hour sorting thru 20-30 different transistors until i settled on those 3 metal cans, thats the tough part, finding new old stuff like that.

    thanks for looking!!

  5. yeah it says a 700mb file will take 3 1/2 hrs. wowza! my dvd player usually plays avis fine its just the last few ive been having problems with, and ive seen other comments mimic mine on the btjunky comments for the same torrents, im guessing im missing a codec or something in the dvd player, because they work fine on the comp. how the hell do you install something like that on a panasonic dvd player?

im dling a different version now to see if its just that torrent or what.

  6. so ive been downloading movies from btjunkie, and every now and then, seems to happen more often this week, ill DL the movie fine, check to see it works fine in windows media, but once i burn it onto a disc and throw it in my dvd player, theres no sound??

all these movie files ive been getting are all AVI, im sure its a codec problem but i dont know how to resolve this so they will work on a dvd.

anyone know what i should do to beat this?

    thanks

  7. i love the quote too, "we're not gonna be no rock n roll band, were just blowin' off some steam"

i dont think this was taped, which is a real shame, apparently morgan the bass player really killed it on dont ease me in, ive never heard him sing but apparently hes got a great voice

  8. so apparently the guys from ocms have been writing in a cabin somewhere near cowan TN and the other day they put on an all electric show at some 150person bar. what i woulda done to be there. holy frig. reviews all say the guys were on, some new tunes, some dead tunes, sounds like good shit all around.

if anyone can find a bootleg, let me know. also, i guess these guys have done this before under the name Blood donors or something. i dunno. got it all from oldcrowfans.com

  9. well, my pops gave me a wack of his old records since hes moving soon, i told him they'd be in good hands, and that wasnt all a lie. for Emotional Rescue, man, track 1 has some serrrrious groove to it. great album thru and thru. lots of early john prine sstuff too, real rockabilly shit.

but right now, its house of pain and cyp[ress hill, back when rap was still good

  10. what a blast last night!! caught 3/4ths of teh stumbleweed set, i guess thegoodrev was running a bit late but it worked out beauty in the end. i love these guys, but i was born n bred on country my whole life so that type of groove makes me feel right at home. great stuff, as always. Ritchie Havens too, wow. i was amazed, this guys still got it. alot of speaking that was almost too quiet to hear for the most part, but the songs were great.

was drinking by the car for most of Zydeco, but what i heard was not bad. and then Dr John came on, he rocked. great little band hes got with hiim, solid grooves, great improv towards the last few tunes there, heard all the hits i came for, so i left a happy camper!

and got to catch up with allll sorts of folks, from the old PJC days and folks from on here, it was great!! lots of cheersing and ruckus. and lots of kids too! what happened? pepperjacks closes and everyone starts making babies lol.

overall it was a great time, id say that was my fave night of any fest of friends ive ever gone down too. good shit lollipop

  11. so i saw a sign the other day saying Dr John is going to be at this years festival. pretty cool i thought, so i looked the shit up, turns out friday looks friggins SWEET!

    Stumbleweed @ 5

    Richie Havens @ 630

    Buckwheat Zydeco @ 8

    Dr John @ 930.

heard of this zydeco shit but never really heard them so im kinda looking forward to that. should be a fun night for sure, anyone else going to check this shit out or what?

also, the workshops are looking sweet, with members of stumbleweed, steve murphy, the goodrev, and others, im gonna have to try and check a couple of these out, that shawn trotter guy is just great on the guitar too.

im sure this is old news to alot of you but i figured id post it up, ive been camping for a while and havent heard anything really.

so whos going down to this shiat? we should meet up and drink a beer together, thats what you guys do right?
