  1. Today is my last day in a cubicle EVER!

I find it the worst in the summer, or on nice spring days like today, when all you want to be is outside. I guess having no windows almost makes it better, since you can't see what you're missing out there.

Here are the ways I've kept myself sane for the last 4 years of BORING cubicle work:

    - read just about every online newspaper

    - keep very up to date on celebrity gossip/reality shows/weather so I'll have something to chat about with the receptionist

    - go hang out in the bathroom

    - write up my "real" resume, where my skills include hand-holding, mind-reading, being a scapegoat

    - drink beer/wine (I work with a bunch of lushes and we have a beer keg!)

Too bad all the fun times have to end...:)

  2. [color:"green"]

    Hey, that's me!!

Thanks guys, it's been a pretty good day so far. They were giving out cupcakes and coffee in the lobby of my building, then when I got to work my boss cooked GREEN pancakes for our whole department!

I can't wait for SF, and don't worry, I'll be working on world peace the whole time, that's what telecommuting is for!

    Happy St.Patrick's day!

  3. Facial gouges are “in”, right?

Facial gouges are, like, so 4 years ago...when that happened to me! They go really well with fat lips. It was really hard to explain to my co-workers that, no, I wasn't in an abusive relationship, but that my dog had pulled a Dino on me!

For real, though, I think the key to dog training is consistency. I had a really hard time with training because the people I lived with didn't care, or they would make up their own commands so she didn't understand mine anymore. Make sure that everyone that she's around does the same thing to make the biting stop, or she'll just be confused.

Or, if they decide they don't want her anymore, I'll have her, she's effin' cute!

  4. I want a dog!

    :(

I've wanted a dog for years and I've always planned to call it Brisco. In my mind, I already have a dog named Brisco. Now that Jerry Orbach died, is it wrong to call my imaginary dog Brisco?

Yes, I need psychiatric help. Or, perhaps just someone to give me a ride to the Humane Society.

I think it's okay, if I can have a cat named Sipowicz, you can have a dog named Brisco!

    Here's my girlie Maui

    looking cute:

    looking not so cute:

  5. Also, what's up with the world peace I ordered? Basher got his penis cozy, I'm pretty sure Jay got his gold, lame pants (with trapdoor bum)--what's up with my order??

Okay, I've told you this before...world peace doesn't happen overnight! I believe the delivery terms were "ASAP", and really, it just hasn't been "possible".

I'm working towards world peace, one handbag at a time!

On a funny note, the handbag advertised at "world peace in a handbag" last year has gone missing! ::

Maybe someone else is trying to take credit for my work (handbags AND world peace)!

  6. Dear everyone,

If nero is willing to play a Bon Jovi song, I'll come to Ottawa for stinkin' NYE....

(I'm not actually sure why I have this unyielding obsession for nero to play a Bon Jovi song, but it's pretty pervasive...I thought it might go away when I heard the New Deal cover a Bon Jovi song--it was sweet!--but it hasn't. I STILL want nero to do one..not only that, I want Chris to rock his little rockstar heart out on vocals.)

Also, he might cease being dead to me for taking my sister far away.

    Love,

    Julia

If I push for this (even though I HATE Bon Jovi!) will I cease to be dead to you too?

    :)

  7. I read about this in the paper this morning. Apparently, it was her boyfriend. He was trying to break up with her, but he killed her instead, or something along those lines.

Pretty scary, but at least it's good to know that there's not some crazy person murdering random people around Main St!

  8. Wow, last night rocked!

Perfect setlist, perfect hottie singer in a plaid shirt, perfect group of friends I went with. Good thing we're close friends, though, because we were standing ON TOP of each other all night! I think now that bars overpack people in on purpose because it makes you hotter, which makes you drink more...and spend more!

Oh well, I had such a great time, and now I can't get this song out of my head:

"And it's true we named our children after towns that we've never been to..."

  9. the montreal show ROCKED! I couldn't believe how loud they were, but in a good way. I think it was pretty much the same setlist as Toronto, but maybe a bit shorter, but maybe it just seemed shorter because it ended really early, i think around 10:30. We missed the openers, though, but it was still totally worth the drive.

    I LOVE this band!

This was such an easy roadtrip, I can't believe no one else from Ottawa came!
