Booche Posted April 18, 2002 Report Share Posted April 18, 2002 Kid Rock took the stage with Gov’t Mule last night at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Rock added vocals to Marshall Tucker Band’s “Can’t You See” (with Audley Freed on guitar), Black Sabbath’s "Sweat Leaf" and “War Pigs” to close the set. The songs also featured former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted. Allman Brothers percussionist Marc Quinones joined the band for “Mule” earlier in the show. Other previously announced guests included Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews Band) and Robert Randolph.In other news; This past Saturday, Bob Weir sat in with the Dark Star Orchestra at the Rex Foundation Benefit held at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco, CA. The group performed the music of The Dead’s show from 10/14/80 at the same venue. Weir emerged for the end of the first set, which included “Little Red Rooster,” “Tennessee Jed”->”Let It Grow”-> “The Wheel”-> “The Music Never Stopped.” Wavy Gravy emceed the show.
