I guess Jamie Shields was the guest last week: HQers, Thought this may be of interest... Darren's lined up a Thursday residency in Toronto at a new bar called "The Harmony Lounge" on College Street, home to a dope martini menu and no cover charge. Darren will have different guests every Thursday, drawing on some of the best players in Toronto. From time to time, you may see some familiar faces on stage. They'll be going on at around 9:45pm, and playing two sets until 1am-ish. They're booked for the next 3 Thursdays, will take a couple weeks off, then roll with it consistently throughout the spring and into summer. What are they going to be playing? In Darren's words: "This will be a new approach for me. I am using a half acoustic, and half electronic kit, and the band will be concentrating on super chill atmospheric layering, break beats, and other subdued approaches. It is completely improv, and will be structured on the spot.
