dJEd Posted September 6, 2005 Report Share Posted September 6, 2005 i was rambling on about Paul Desmond at our site on sunday night and this older dude(Shelby's dad) was like "did you say Paul Desmond? what kind of young person talks about Paul Desmond?" so anyway he starts on about how his old man played Sax and even played with Getz and somebody else. he told me a story about being in a little spaghetti jazz hole and seeing an unexpected and unannounced Desmond performance with the house band i guess. so anyway this put me in the mood for some DBQ. i love that dude. i love Blue Rondo for guitar. Take Five too although i forgot it i can't get enough of the live Take Five from Jazz Goes to College i think(oddly enough we talked about that album) wayyyyy better than the Time Out version IMO.
