There's some live versions of tracks from For the Roses, which is so surreal and inspiring that it makes $500 headphones seem like a good idea. snarfmaster C Posted June 30, 2003 Report Share Posted June 30, 2003 to: the counting crows et al i know joni's songs are awesome. i love to sing them too. but why do you record your lame-ass covers you are not even in the same playing field as joni - you are nowhere near her quality of music.... fine - play her songs, have a good time, appreciate them for the incredible creations that they are, but why subject your half-assed versions to the masses? people should be hearing the original performed by the person who put her self into the songs. cause DAMN she does a good job. it makes me sad when i hear these bad covers - some people don't know what they're missing i only wish i could write songs as awesome as joni does.
