Okay, how the hell did this band fly so below the radar that I am just hearing their music, now?

I am listening to this stuff at myspace.com, and this is funky-like-crazy!

See you guys on the 22nd. I'm almost definitely driving down. Between you guys and Spudly; that's worth the drive from Whistler!

(This band also has my vote for "Best Band Name of 2006".)

OPTIMUS GRIND

www.myspace.com/optimusgrind

We are Optimus Grind, the eight piece extravaganza from Vancouver, BC, who are dedicated to dishing out booty shaking grooves and prescribing raw and raunchy rhythms. Since late 2004, Optimus Grind has made it their mantra to create tightly original songs, provide a fascinating stage show and convince those who frequent the music scene that funk is best served live. Most importantly, Optimus Grind is all about creating an atmosphere that can only be described as giving the audience possessed powers to party.

For 2006, the members of Optimus Grind will be busy working on their first studio album with the possibility of a Western Canadian tour in the mix. (along with doing shows all over Vancouver.) Whether youre up for a layed back groove or a hard bumping beat, Optimus Grind is ready to please the masses with their hypnotic 'n' phat sound and having some good ol funking fun while doing it.

BAKED POTATO

www.myspace.com/bakedpotatofunk

Blending enthusiastic stage prescence along with psychedelia, jazz-funk fusion and extended jamming in the spirit of the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead, Baked Potato provides a staple of fast and furious arrangements of well crafted, jam-laden, horn fuelled jam-funk explorations.

Seriously... don't forget yer boogie shoes for this one kids!!!
