VANDERPARK www.myspace.com/vanderpark Since its inception in 2001, Vanderpark has been carving their powerful and undeniable musical influence into the Canadian music scene by standing at the frontlines of the revolution that is present in the music industry today. Two soaring harmonies are at the heart of their trademark sound, while intricately crafted songs remain their anchor. Vanderparks sonic diversity and appeal is no less than universal. Exuding palpitated grooves, weaving melodies that uplift the spirit, and rocking fist-pumping anthems, Vanderpark delivers a concert experience that is utterly unique and refreshing. VITA TWIRLIN' DIVA www.myspace.com/twirlindiva Vita the Twirlin Diva is a Weaver of Fire and Light. All the way from Georgian Bay, near Owen Sound, Ontario, she's been practicing with both Poi and Staff for some time now and has done several performances with live bands, such as The Wassabi Collective, King Sunshine and Fort Knox FIVE to name a few. For those of you wondering what the heck Poi are, they are two weights, either glow balls or kevlar fire wicks, on the ends of chains which are spun around the body in a sort of dance to create beautiful patterns and visual effects. Poi originated in New Zeland and is an ancient Maorie tradition practiced by both men and women to improve their strength and flexability. The Staff is exactly what it sounds like, basically a long stick with kevlar wick at either end for dipping in fuel to light-up, then it's spun around the body in different ways, again creating increadable visual effects. A collapsable Staff is the best for travelling with. Check out the awsome pics of Vita twirlin the Staff with Fire in Costa Rica! What a great place to meet other twirlers and share moves! Truly Inspiring!
