Keeping in tune with the diversity & drive that has made him a renowned & respected artist, James Bryan from The Philosopher Kings & Prozzak launched a record label in 2005 called UMI Entertainment as a response to Toronto's burgeoning music scene. Each artist was chosen for their strength in performance, songwriting, and persona. Umi artists such as Tyler Kyte, Gavin Bradley, and Sunshine State are each already creating a certified buzz amongst industry & fans alike based on great songs , dynamic live shows , and originality.

Thursday, June 8th at Supermarket they all come together to showcase there immense talents in a special event at Supermarket. To cap off this night of solid up and coming talent, the host for the evening James Bryan will also be performing songs of his highly acclaimed solo release "Beautiful World" guaranteeing a full evening of solid entertainment.

Tyler Kyte

Hailing from Lindsey, Ontario, 21-year-old singer/songwriter Tyler Kyte has a voice that grabs you and won�t let go. Blessed with a distinct vibrato, and raspy tone reminiscent of Eddy Vedder and Michael Stipe, Tyler sings with a passion and emotion rarely heard. His songs combine the classic rock of Steve Miller and Pearl Jam, with a more rootsy approach that could as easily fill a stadium as a coffee house.

No stranger to the spotlight, Tyler Kyte has also been acting since he was 10 years old. As the host of "Popular Mechanics for Kids, a regular on the ever-popular YTV children series "Goosebumps" and most recently a re-occurring role as the guitarist Spiederman on Instant Star, Tyler has established a loyal fan base across North America.. Gavin Bradley

Gavin Bradley is a singer/producer/songwriter hailing from Ottawa, Canada who has reinvented the love song. Sunshine State

Sunshine State began as a therapy session between two friends with vocalist Aleza as the patient, and musician/producer James Bryan providing the therapy with his acoustic guitar. Sharing the ups and downs of being a single young women in the city (Toronto) with her good friend, The duo turned experience into musicial inspiration. Influenced by everything from Bossa Nova to New Order & Feist, Sunshine State has an acoustic sound that�s totally fresh & infectious, writing songs that try to make sense of modern life & love.

With a captivating live show that combines Aleza a sweet and smoldering persona, with James electrifying guitar work, the duo have won loyal fans & a strong industry buzz after only a handful of Toronto gigs. In the tradition of Santana, and George Benson, James Bryan commands the soul of the listener with his guitar, creating a sound at once fiery, passionate and soulful. James is one of Canada's best-respected young guitarists, producers and songwriters, having penned over a dozen top 40 hits for various artists including Nelly Furtado , Fefe Dobson , and Divine brown.
