Cool Amp Trick from ReadyMade magazine

I don't know why I never did this before, but you can create a really fun and interesting feedback loop with your amp by running a patch cord from the line out or preamp out back into the input jack.

For safety's sake start by zeroing your master volume and channel volumes. On my solid state amp if I start manipulating the master volume up slowly I can pull out the feedback and use the channel volume to alter it. Then, depending on your instrumentation adjust the bass, treble, reverb etc and make all sorts of happy sounds from your amp. I've got a built-in delay with different settings that really turns the feedback on its end.

Once again do make sure you zero all of your output levels before switching on. Raise your knobs slowly until you figure out how each knob changes the sound of the feedback.
