More of neat tid bit since we live way up here but here it is: (I have also heard them do nights of Herbie and Headhunters) The Motet has announced plans for three special Halloween shows in Colorado this year: October 30 at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins, October 31 at the Fox Theater in Boulder and November 1 at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver. Whereas last year’s Halloween gig was a tribute to Stevie Wonder, all three dates of this year’s run will feature the music of Tower of Power. The band will be accompanied by a five-piece horn section (including members of the Boston Horns). The fall tour kicks off late next week in Arkansas and includes multiple stops in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and Texas. In November, The Motet will mount a west coast tour that is being sponsored by BioDiesel, an environmentally-friendly diesel fuel made from vegetable oil. The band’s tour bus will use the petroleum-free fuel, which results in better mileage and cleaner emissions. For the complete fall itinerary, visit www.themotet.net.
