Jane’s Addiction To Release DVD Documentary

It’s not very shocking when bands decide to do a reunion tour.

Just ask The Super Friendz, The Guess Who, Fleetwood Mac and Echo & The Bunnymen who have all gotten back together for a few more jaunts to see if they still have the stuff. Many of these bands have even officially reformed, written new tunes and released albums in their latest incarnations. Some however, have reunited and found out that after doing the tour it just wasn’t meant to be. Jane’s Addiction fits into both categories: things didn’t work out after the first reunion, and now they’re giving it another shot by releasing the new album Strays and touring like crazy.

1997 marked the first time Jane’s Addiction came together since after their initial break up in 1991 for the Relapsed tour, which would later be documented on the odds and sods album called Kettle Whistle. The tour was also captured on film, but besides being first presented at the Slamdance Film Festival in 1999, the resulting rock documentary called Three Days has never been show to North American audiences, until now.

On October 7, Jane’s Addiction will release Three Days on DVD. The movie documents that first reunion tour with 42 minutes of unused footage including live versions of "Jane Says," "Mountain Song" and "Ocean Size," plus various photos and celebrity encounters.

Jane’s Addiction will be playing Toronto’s Massey Hall this Friday (September 26) and Saturday (September 27) before taking off on a 21-date European tour.

Note: my buddy Brother Bill will also be interviewing these guys tomorrow on Live On The Edge at 5:15 p.m. on CFNY 102.1 FM (Toronto). Any questions you might have, post here and I'll see if maybe he can ask the boys them on air...

I'd like to know what happened to their last bass player, Martin LeNoble. He toured with them last time around. He was in Porno for Pyros, but drug abuse drove him out of the band. Just wondering if that was the case this time around. I heard the London show was sick...Up the Beach, Stop, Been Caught Stealing, Ocean Size, Three Days, Ted Just Admit it...Can't wait for friday!
