When CJ and I were in Japan in '91-92, were used to laugh at the idea of people routinely paying $50+ to see a show (the average seeming to be closer to $100), but then seeing that creep across the ocean. Thought it was just a virus, but no, it was in fact deliberate corporate malfeasance. That Fogerty story caught me too. I'm forever telling my students not to plagiarise themselves (e.g. write the same paper for two classes). Now I have a bit of an ethical web to cut through, I see.
