AWeeJig
Hey folks, after attending Come Together last weekend and playing a little djembe I noticed that I've lost my knack for it a little bit. I find a need to get back into the swing of things and am looking to purchase a djembe or other sweet sounding drum today, tomorrow, or sometime within the next week or so. I have checked out a few places around the Ottawa area and haven't really come across anything that has peaked my interests. Any info would help. Long and Mquade is out of the question though. Here's an example of something that would arouse my senses.

Ms Zimmy
My husband works at the folklore, I'll ask him if he has anything like that
Ms Zimmy
Brendan confirmed that there are drums similar to that one at the folklore center. They range in price, something like that would probably be 200-300.good luck

AWeeJig
I went to folklore intending only to browse, and ended up purchasing a very nice djembe for $320 and a strap to go along with it. I was impressed with the service and the drum itself. My new instrument is the drum on the far right of this picture:
jayr
Nice work! It looks really easy to tune too...
AWeeJig
That it is jayr. Just a matter of sliding the clips out and re-positioning them or leaving them out to keep it nice and loose when not playing it. The sound is great on it. I can play lollipop like nobody's business!
