The Green Apple Festival will expand to eight cities this April. Produced by Peter Shapiro and Jambands.com parent company Zenbu Media, the third annual festival will place new emphasis on its free outdoor events, as well as greening over 125 venues throughout the country. On Sunday April 20, an eclectic line-up of artists will perform in landmark parks in eight cities. The events will combine environmental addresses by prominent speakers and educational displays with music and entertainment, on the theme of environmental awareness. The line-up ranges from blues legends to Latin powerhouse pop stars, reggae greats, jamband favorites, conscientious hip-hop artists, R&B icons, rock bands and singer/songwriters during "America's largest Earth Day celebration." The all-inclusive, interactive and free public events will occur in New York City (Central Park), Chicago IL (Lincoln Park Zoo), Miami FL (Bicentennial Park), Denver CO (City Park), Dallas TX (Fair Park), San Francisco CA (Golden Gate Park) and Los Angeles CA (Santa Monica Pier). The flagship event will be Earth Day 2008 on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
"We’re thrilled to announce this line-up and will reveal more names in the days to come," says Green Apple Festival founder and Executive Producer, Peter Shapiro. "Artists from every genre have raised their hands to participate in America's largest Earth Day celebration, spread out across the country in public parks for everyone to attend. We owe endless thanks to the artists and their teams who care enough to underscore the urgency and message of this mission."

I just noticed the slip thread announcing SMMD dates got 20 views in a couple of days. waste. If that thread was in the general forum, way more people would read about and get hip to the tour. This seperate forum is hurting the band.
Do you guys want the Slip to break up? If not I say kill the Slip forum!

I'll stick to crucifying rabbits thanks!

You made my eyes water up at work with this post as I completely understand how you are feeling right now.
You are a good doggy daddy and your memories of Hud will travel with you the rest of your days.

Wish that ZPZ was at Nelson Ledges on July 4th ... now THAT would be sweet
Yeah. Most people I've talked to are thinking about doing Gratefulfest on Labour Day weekend instead of July 4.
2008 is already looking chock-full of good music, and I'm still recovering from Langerado.
-
if I'm around for the Kitchener show I'm in for sure! It's rare that we get a show like this in this city!
I know. I forgot about the Nelson Ledges weekend I was planning pretty quickly.
-
I got in on the Pre-sale & 2 tickets with Regular Mail came to $105 with service charges from Front Gate Tickets (likely better than what Ticketmaster will charge).
-
Widespread won't come back.
Most of the sketch they bring can't cross the border.
-
Pre-sale This morning at 11:00 AM for the Kitchener show.
If you've seen them play (or if I've forced you to watch the DVD) $44.00 is not too steep by any means.
-
I can't believe they are playing Elements in Kitchener on July 4. Pre-sale is tomorrow.
-
He's Bill Tibble's first cousin.
Do any of you know Bill? He used to have huge keg parties on Regina Street in Waterloo.
-
Awesome!
-
Hopefully Steve is okay.

My old stomping grounds.
How sad.

anyone wanna start a cover band?
Didn't your Steve Murphy cover band just open for Diesel Dog last week at the Lanc?
Sorry I missed your show BTW. Sadly I was watching REM open up for the Disco Biscuits in the Florida everglades.

In an unrelated rumour, I heard at Langerado that Ween is planning their own weekend camping festival for this summer.
