  1. hey mr pinchy.. where are you downloading the one for woody show? i really want to hear the black crowes part of the show with gordie on bass.

in the cd changer of my new jetta [big Grin][big Grin][big Grin][big Grin] i have Round Room, both bonnarro discs, a homemade megamix, marley (rastaman vibration), and manu chao.

if anyone here likes stanton moore (galactic's drummer) i'd suggest picking up his cd from earlier this year called flyin' the koop. it's so good. the line up is:

    • stanton moore - drums
    • karl denson - saxophone, flute
    • skerik - saxophone
    • chris wood - bass
    • brian seeger - guitar

it's a really tight, jazzy, funky album.

  2. What's the problem with moving it from Confederation Park? It was a horrible venue. Whoever thought music would sound good bouncing off big concrete buildings should get their heads examined. Not to mention the design of the site sucked, it was too small, and all the cheap city politicians were watching from their offices. Make them pay like everyone else!!

  3. The emphasis of my post was not on the politics of the debate, just the 420 million dollars....

The States should be thinking about the same legislation and getting some people out of their prison system and back into the economy. People can't make money and spend money if they're doing time for a stupid drug offence.

  4. They're doing a little piece on CBC Radio right now about the government's plan to decriminalize small amounts of pot. They went through a whole bunch of statistics, and said the pot trade in BC is estimated at $6 billion annually. If you do the math, as the CBC did, the GST the government could collect on that $6 billion annually would be $420 million.

    Some coincidence!!

  5. Yeah, I've seen that guy or somebody doing the same thing at a few shows too. I got some sweet stickers a few times, a few PH ones but they're long gone.

Is there anything I should know about attaching stickers to a car? Do they have to be extra strong / think / metallic / whatever?

I'm new to the car thing but want to make my baby look pretty.

  6. These questions come up constantly but the answers are never the same [smile]

    1. Rheostatics - like Sean said, they're the best thing going, even if they're not going as much anymore. I've seen them many many times, and they've never disappointed. Ever. Highlight would be getting my request (Northern Wish) played at the triple-bill in Waterloo back in February. Check out Bidini's books as well.

    2. Black Crowes - I think Sean should have posted the Crowes given his large shoulder 'birthmark', but these guys are the best rock band since Zeppelin. Hands down. Too bad Kate Hudson (CoughYokoCough) came along and tore the Robinson's off each other, where they need to be to make the music.

    3. Queen - Spent most if not all of my $10/week allowance as a kid on Queen tapes and paraphernalia. Totally worth every penny. They had to have had great big brass ones to release some of the stuff they did, and were hugely influential to so many of the world's best. Just think - without Queen there would be no Metallica, Guns 'n' Roses or Extreme!

    4. Bob - This is where I cheat. Marley & and Dylan are / were the best at what they do / did. If you disagree you're flat out wrong.

    5. Elvis Costello - He's still as potent as he was in '77 and (IMO) is releasing stonger material the later into his career he gets. Also, without him I never would have listened to the Clash and the Pogues without who I never would have listened to Manu Chao. Everything works out in the end. Today Elvis and his wife Cait O'Riordan (of the Pogues) announced their divorce.

    Cheers
