  1. cool is right.

though i try to be optimistic and idealistic, MAYBE this stadium full of "booers" is a start of things to come - where people are going to stop supporting "products" (i wouldn't dare refer to her as an artist or musician, let alone an entertainer - a manufactured product of pop culture is what she is) like Simpson and will increase their support for live local music, theatre, dance and art.

Idealistic? Yes. But hey, it could happen.

  2. Hey all - we've got a whole bunch of dates booked for January and we hope that you can come share the excitement with us. We're playing with some great bands. Good times.

  3. I would HIGHLY suggest checking this one out if you can folks - if I can somehow get to Hamilton I will...I jammed with some of Jane Bunnett's group when I was studying in Cuba a couple years back...she brought some teen prodigies back from Cuba to Canada with her on bass and piano - fantastic players. A real musical treat.

  4. when i was studying in cuba a few years ago i'd smoke one overlooking the coast pretty much every day - so beautiful. And those were the hand-rolled ones too. You know what they say, they're "rolled between the thighs of virgins."

  5. is it just me but I really didn't like this movie...I thought the footage was excellent and the music was great, but from a documentary perspective - it pretty much sucked. how come robbie robertson or anyone from The Band wasn't interviewed? Was there any negative feelings about the train? It also seemed to focus on a select group of people and didn't really pay much attention to others...just my thoughts.

  6. let's see here...lots of canadian groups...

    moe.

    the slip

    gtb

    jsb

    wassabi collective

    nero

    kobayashi

    addison groove project

    burt neilson band

    dave matthews band

    keller williams

    ladysmith black mambazo

the rheostatics (w/my little bro on t-sax)

    Santana

and SO many more that I just can't think of...saw a lot of local shows, and I can't even begin to list them all. I'd say I averaged about a show per week for the year at least, sometimes more.
