  1. Came across this and thought some folks might be interested. It's an early release of a couple of songs done by Toronto's Mynah Birds in around 1966. Lead singer for the band was future super-freak Rick James. On rhythm guitar and back-up vocals was a lad by the name of Neil Young.

Motown recently released these songs from their archives.

  2. Yeah good times for sure.

Nice to see Snelly again and Brad, Cully and the Rev and everyone and to meet KevO and Zero (who promptly informed me that all the Principals he knew were pricks...did my best not to add to his list ;) ).

and the tame Toronto audience was a new thing for me... Used to more noise and more dancing taking place. Theres nothing like seeing The Spades at the Montreal House.

Know what you mean, Kev. Lookin' forward to New Year's. Couldn't help but think that Luke would enjoy himself more with a MoHo crowd as well :P

Still there's something about the Cameron House that I really like and I think the crowd there is only a show or two from busting loose. (I can see why the Golden Dogs did a series of shows there). Hell even i got stuck in a corner at the back for the 2nd set the other night.

    That ain't gonna happen again!

  3. It's my understanding in the new year Matt will tour in support of his solo CD. When he does he will not be backed by El Torpedo, but by a number of musicians including Dale Murray and Serge Samson from the Guthries. I would assume Serge will play bass, but, from what I can tell, there's been no permanent change to the El Torpedo line-up. I know there are some promo photos (w/Dale Murray in them) out there for that tour.

  4. Now after all of that, bouche has no involvement with the New Years show other than a passion for the show he'll be attending to suceed. What's the big deal if a show gets a sticky or not? If you want something stickied, PM him, I'd bet he'd do it.

Sharon thanks for the clarification on pinning. It's unfortunate that numerous posts and re-asking of the question had to occur before it came. Human nature (my own included) being what it is, folks don't like to be ignored and will, of course, eventually read things into the ongoing silence.

Although it's no one's business, as jambands.ca gets into more show promotion (The Slip???-altho not in the end I guess - The Code Talkers? GroundHog Fest? etc.) it's important for folks to be aware of the relationship between that and use of the forum, so there aren't misunderstandings and assumptions. Thanks again and yes we do appreciate the effort that you and Mike put forth on behalf of all of us.
