  2. What do you guys think about the Dead selling out their indepentant rights to corporate music conglomerates? They seem quite committed to business over music anymore. This was always what I loved about the Dead, their ability to keep the wild wolves out of the picture and retain control of a great venture themselves. But that is all Dead now... booooo! It's all side effect of driving a train that the conductor put to rest,.. sure it still takes the same route but things just aren't the same. The caboose just doesn't whip around the corner the way it used to.

If the mirror is smashed one cannott see themselves through it any longer, Garcia was that mirror and the reflection is now distorted. I wish we could simply say goodbye.

  3. We've been doing these get-togethers at the Ring for a couple months now and wow are they great. A giant dinner spread with nothing but friends and cool cats. Precursed with music and concluded with music. We've had straight reggae jam parties, turvey quartet jazz with Guest house busting out thier crazy songs and a mix of everyone simply having a great time. The dinner is usually a donation arrangement. But honestly, it's been a little different every single time. The only thing that remains the same is the wonderful cuisine and the splendid vibes.

    Show up,..you'll love it!

  4. This is a great cd! I wouldn't normally listen to this brand of tune, but I love it. Not a bad review except that Steve does not front the Guest House. He was in the band for a short period of time in it's pubecent stage(locally as TGH were born out west years ago))The reggae influcence is not totally but mostly the work of Jonny Kerr who happens to have his signature so ingraved in the album he arguably deserves equal credit. Friends of Hefner are also far from a reggae band. They play wonderfully as a close knit group of friends extending the warmth of campfire type sing-alongs and well picked country-esque and classic cover songs to the stage. The songs on this album were mostly born of Hefner and as a group they have performed them in that setting. All in all this album displays Steve quite well and if you know him well you will have an even better appreciation for this recording because you will see and hear how very proud of it he is. And we his friends are quite proud of him for accomplishing a feat he's wanted to for a long time. We love you Elmo.

    Good work.

  5. Well my highlight was playing different tunes for everyone. Judging by the posts, no-one here heard us, oh well. We were the jazz band who played Saturday @ 1:00 and we had an absolute blast.

thanks to everyone who came, came and took the trip hyper-speed to oblivion.
