He attended Evolve Festival and brings us the lowdown on how 5000 people came out to this small town for a little music and a lot of social activism. Includes interviews with Michael Franti of Spearhead, The Trews and Jimmy Swift band.

Imagine this: two very talented musicians who haven’t seen each other or played with each other since eighth grade, meeting up and reacquainting in the mother of all cities, NYC. And imagine their first gig as a duo being of all things a birthday tribute for Madonna! Growing up in New Jersey, Marco Benevento & Joe Russo used to each play in the Jazz Band at their middle school. They even once played together in Russo’s basement. Ah, the beginnings of greatness.

Sat, Sept 11th - The Marquee Club, Halifax, NS (w/ guests Universal Soul [Halifax MCs], Dani Oore [sax, Jungle Tube] and Bruce Vickery [Percussionist] joining JSB on stage!)
This isn't one of those shows were someone just jumps up on the stage to does a little jam with the band.
JSB have been in the jam spot 10 hours a day all week practising with the amusing musician that are joining them tonight.
I had a listen to some of the practise tapes the other day, and wholly fu©k. Dani Oore Jungle Tube is out of this world.
I'm more excited for this than Evolve!

the duo really impressed me...but i've got to say that although i've never been to a phish show i think that these guys will take up a huge chunk of the tour slack in the united states. they're AWESOME. i don't really understand what is not to love about these guys. i don't care to know either...but that's just me.
If all goes well, I'll be announcing a few Duo dates for Ontario before the end of the year!!!
