  2. The Chameleon Project (CP) is back. It's been a while but much has been happeining behind the scenes.

The project has taken time off to recalibrate, write new tunes, launch a new web-site and have added a keyboard players for the first time since 2005.

This fall will mark Chameleon Project's return to touring in Canada and the US. Kicking off this new era the Chameleon Project returns to play the Come Together Festival at Frontier Ghost Town this Labour Day Weekend. (Sept.3)

    New Keys, Synths and soul!

    sebastian-bio-pic-300x300.jpg

Spending his childhood divided between North America and Europe, Sebastian is accustomed to integrating many divergent influences. A formally trained jazz player with a classical background combined with a love of house, R & B and electronic music, Sebastian’s musical influences are diverse and have imparted him with a unique sense of melody and harmonic texture. In his playing this predominantly manifests itself as soaring synthesizer leads over top of luxurious chordal textures and aggressive rhythmic stabs. Sebastian achieves his sound with a wide range of vintage and modern synthesizers, keyboards and effects. In his rapidly expanding arsenal of keyboards Sebastian prefers anything with that analog bite and a little bit of dust. He draws heavily from groove masters the likes of Herbie Hancock, Jamie Shields and Toby Smith. When not playing, Sebastian can be found enjoying the world’s sports cars, fashion, furniture architecture and cuisine.

  3. Many of you have probably already seen it but I love it.

Macho Man Randy Savage died the day before that Christian nut said the rapture was to take place (May 21). A rumor started that Macho got to heaven on that day and that is wy the rapture did not take place.

    This picture tells it all.

Macho died so we all may live. R.I.P.

  4. I would also agree with the last comment. I have not been but have a friend who has and he said he was shocked with the amount of hard drug sales out in the open. (crack, heroin etc.)

In terms of music and such looks great but leave the kids at home.

  5. Brutal line up. Apart from Ween. MMJ and the Cars (whcih I don't really liek anyway)

This is another hipster lineup. So unless you have super skinny jans and are wearing a touque indoors and in the summer this is not the festival for you.

Eminem...fuck! go away already your are played out sir.

  6. I sadly had to pass on this one the price was too high, especially after I shelled out large buck for Paul Simon and Supertramp as well as all the Phish shows.

Sadly prices will just go up as gas costs more and touring is more expensive. Also no one buys albums anymore so artists really only make money off licensing, live shows and merch.

I guess this is the price we pay for being able to download anything for free.

  7. Sorry to hear this. The New Deal have been great ambassadors for the Canadian Jam-Scene (althought they are really one of the olny ones period.) and have always been very gracious to other bands and fans.

I do agree the individual members have been going thier seperate ways and it can be hard to keep it going when your heads are in other palces.

Hope to see them one last time.

  8. Phish is going to go on stage and do........what? Continue sucking?

It's modern America and Phish no longer destroys America. Everybody else can do everything. Everybody can be a rapper' date=' a musician, a movie star, a comedian, only this is not true. It takes years of experience to get good. And Phish may have been one of the owners of the world at one time but as a live performer in 2011 it’s gonna stink...because 3.0 does

Now in the old days everybody would have believed the hype, that demand for Phish shows were outrageous, that they were instant sellouts.

    So we've got the hype.

Then we've got the inaccurate reporting. I called some twirler at JEMP and she was saying that tickets were still available for Glenn Close Camping even though they were of the crystal variety and way overpriced.

But then this story gets picked up and analyzed and retweeted until conventional wisdom shows that Phish tour is a stiff before it even begins. It’s probably not even selling well and we surely know it wont be IT but we wish it were if it could.

Welcome to modern business with Phish.

This is only about the money and a misunderstanding of the marketplace. If you think Phish will sell tickets then you believe Pork Tornado will sell tickets. That notoriety/fame is enough to get Phisheads overheated to the point of overpaying to see it all up close and personal without it being personal or up close.

But imagine the sideshow in the modern era of said band. The carnival barker convinces you to overpay to see something that is ultimately disappointing. Today, this can't happen. Because you'd instantly go on the Internet and tell everybody that it SUCKS!

You're sitting there during the event, texting and tweeting, that's your role, everybody's a reporter.

Phantasy Tour bought this hook line and sinker. If Phish is there, we all should be no matter what because the nitrous mafia and the GDF are there.

The brokers dropped their tickets en masse last summer below face value. They all hoped Trey re-entered rehab or dropped like Garcia did before Fall Tour 95 just so they could get their money back. Although,Fall Tour 95 would have been an instant arena sellout with multiple nights at Boston Garden and MSG and even the Skydome in Toronto for 2 nights. That’s right. The fucking cavernous Skydome. Take care of your shoes.

    Fucking losers

Who believed Phish was indomitable, a genius, a force of nature who could not fail? It's hard to shed the stink of failure. In other words, this failed tour and show will hurt Phish more than help Mike Gordon once he decides to go solo for once and for all. Whatever he's paid must be measured against his lack of employability in the future. In other words, when TAB overplays and tickets go unsold and the dance halls are empty, it's hard to recover. TAB should have swallowed its pride and come back in really small clubs like The Wetlands, if it were still around, there were enough fans for that. And build from there. Phish playing live is like me Charlie Sheen on Broadway. A big jump that's doomed to fail.

Phantasy Tour. Even though the fiasco was broken by blog like OPT, somewhat inaccurately most likely, PT is complicit in hype today. They want something to write about, something for their 3.0 noobs to feel a connection to. There are almost no oldschool phans anymore, just people who quote the PT, OPT or the Coventry Phish Blog. We get the news we deserve. They are a really small, all Shine and no substance culture, just a culture of substances and that's what they get because its deserved.

with substance but sans train-wreck value go unhyped, see Mike Gordon smiling all night at one of his own shows. You're interested in Trey why? Oh, that's right, you grew up with him, but don't tell me it's about the music.

The phans. Once again people are sold former talents who no longer care while those who do no longer see the forest for the trees.

    Winners?

The Internet. A germ of a nugget is planted and then batted around until the truth emerges. Sooner rather than later. You can't lie anymore, the truth comes out.

The truth. Historically, Phish business is all smoke and mirrors. Now it's all about honesty. Have a smoke and lets see some honesty onstage for once, not the marketing. You say that Big Red freshness lasts right through it. Lets see some proof.

    [/quote']

    Why is Lafetz so angry?!

Seems like he is loosing his cred. fast.

In terms of why the tour isn't selling out. well how about the fact that the ticket prices are the highest yet in Phish history and everyon is still hurting fromt he economic metldown. However tickets for shows (and this is not just a Phish situation) have to be higher as gas is much more expensive, making trucking gear more expensive etc.

To me Phish 3.0 musically is the best in a long time probably since 97-98.

    Just me.
